We’re seeking a Senior Accountant - Finance to join our team.
Proper is seeking a Senior Accountant with an Innovative mindset, the ability to build processes from scratch and enforce them, and skilled at cross-functional collaboration who is excited to be working in a fast-paced environment that’s continuously evolving.

Proper is a San Francisco-based tech startup. This full-time position would be based in Mexico or Colombia.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring timely month-end and year-end closings.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations. Lead the process for audits and regulatory filings.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and implement automation tools to improve efficiency.
- Tax Preparation: Lead the preparation of Proper’s state and federal filings for compliance with Tax Laws.
Skills
- Hard/technical skills
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Strong understanding of US GAAP
- Familiarity with US Tax regulations
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills

- Proficiency in ERP’s and CRM’s such as Quickbooks Online and Hubspot
