Description

We’re looking for a Staff Accountant to join our finance team and perform day-to-day accounting activities for a fast-growing Conversations-as-a-Service software company. This is a full-time position with the opportunity to grow within a dynamic and fast-paced organization. The ideal candidate will assist with payables, receivables, month-end procedures, and financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in delivering GAAP-compliant financial statements and reporting, ensuring operational excellence across the finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare client invoices on a monthly or as-needed basis.
  • Ensure accurate daily journal entries, including payables, receivables, and other cash/expense entries.
  • Maintain accurate AR and AP sub-ledgers and perform collection procedures as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors and clients to resolve inquiries or issues.
  • Maintain the deferred revenue sub-ledger.
  • Prepare month-end entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including prepaids and accruals.
  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained and control processes are followed.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Prepare audit-ready documentation for external auditors and tax preparers.
  • Stay current on accounting best practices and contribute to team development.

Skill Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience (public or private accounting preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
  • Analytical skills to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional demeanor and positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, take direction, and manage upward when necessary.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite) and MS Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required; CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
