The Staff Accountant under general direction of the Director of Accounting and dotted line to the Senior Accountants, is responsible for preparing general ledger entries, generating & delivering timely & accurate account reconciliations and account analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare general ledger entries and ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts.
  • Review and follow-up on all phases of the monthly closing process to ensure the books of NTG are error free and closed according to established schedules.
  • Prepare monthly account and bank reconciliations as well as timely follow-up and resolution of reconciling items to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Monitor and analyze financial accounting data and report material variances & trends to management.
  • Support the year-end close and the annual audits.
  • Work closely with accounting leadership and other finance professionals on process improvement initiatives.
  • Make recommendations to accounting leadership on ways to improve processes.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • A four-year degree in Accounting or Finance (with a concentration in Accounting) with 2-3 years’ relevant work experience required.
  • CPA track.
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
  • Must have proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter who possesses the ability to work independently toward the completion of preset goals.
  • Must demonstrate ownership of job responsibilities and effectively manage time to meet recurring deadlines and juggle last minute projects or special requests.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be able to complete all assigned projects with strict attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and a neat and professional appearance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Maintain a stationary position for extended periods; move about the office, operate computers and files, as needed; and frequently communicate with others. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee is required to lift boxes up to 20 pounds. 

SCHEDULING

  • This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. An employee in this position must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings, during peak periods.
