The Opportunity:

TrueCar seeks a highly motivated Staff Accountant with a positive attitude, analytical mind, and excellent interpersonal skills to support our ever-evolving business. The Staff Accountant will be an integral member of the TrueCar Accounting Crew, supporting TrueCar’s Finance & Accounting operations in a fast-paced, team-focused, dynamic environment that provides opportunities to develop one’s professional, financial, and analytical skills.
How you will contribute to TrueCar’s success:
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, which includes the preparation of journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
- Prepare monthly & quarterly analytics and fluctuation analyses
- Compile and analyze financial information to help with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements following US GAAP
- Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with company policies and procedures
- Coordinate with all levels of employees, management, and external parties to help ensure complete and accurate accounting in assigned areas
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for both internal and external audit requests
- Assist in the identification and resolution of accounting discrepancies and irregularities
- Assist in other areas of accounting and complete ad hoc projects as needed
Your Expertise:
- Accounting skills: Demonstrated ability to perform general ledger accounting tasks related to the month-end accounting close process to include journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis, as well as the proven ability to prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Communication skills: Clear and concise written and verbal communication; including the ability to effectively document procedures performed and analysis of results
- Capability to successfully operate independently with minimal daily direction from management to accomplish objectives and meet deadlines
- Learner mindset: Desire to be mentored and the ability to accept coaching and constructive feedback
- Demonstrated desire to improve processes
- Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
- Experiential knowledge of public companies is a plus
- Familiarity with Workday, Netsuite, Oracle, or SAP is a plus
- Experience in the Technology sector is a plus
Base salary range: $60,000 - $75,000
