Summary: 

The Staff Accountant works within the Corporate Accounting Team, and other members of the Finance team, on month-end and year-end closing processes, account reconciliations and general ledger adjustments.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (included but are not limited to): 

  • Assist with the accounting for various expenses, prepaid & fixed assets, bank reconciliations, accrued liabilities & other accounts; 

  • Prepare journal entries in accordance with monthly tasks assigned; 

  • Prepare associated reconciliation of accounts and research inconsistencies during month-end close process; 

  • Review vendor invoices to determine appropriate accounting treatment; 

  • Analyze and interpret the details of internally generated reports; 

  • Provide internal & external audit teams with documentation for annual audit;  

  • Assist external tax firm with documentation for preparation of quarterly and annual income tax schedules; 

  • Prepare annual property tax filings; 

  • Additional responsibilities assigned by management. 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements: 

  • Able to meet deadlines, and work well with others; 

  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality; 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;  

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;  

  • Able to work independently and in a team environment; 

  • Able to prioritize tasks from various departments; 

  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills; 

  • Takes initiative to perform research and propose solutions; 

  • Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

 

Education, Training and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting, required;   

  • Progress toward CPA certification, preferred;  

  • A minimum of 1-year experience in Accounting, required; 

  • Must be highly skilled in use of Microsoft Office;  

  • Financial reporting experience, preferred;  

  • Basic understanding of GAAP, required;  

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, preferred; 

  • Experience with FloQast, preferred. 

Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
