Job Summary

FusionAuth is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team and support our accounting function during this exciting growth phase. Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Finance, this role will manage key accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, collections, and commissions, as well as contribute to month-end close processes and ad hoc projects.

As a key contributor, the Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in building scalable and efficient processes to support FusionAuth’s continued expansion. Most of our staff reside in the Mountain or Pacific time zone, but this position is open to any U.S. location.

Responsibilities

Billing and Accounts Receivable:

• Oversee the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage accounts receivable, including monitoring aging reports, resolving customer payment issues, and driving efficient collections.

Month-End Close Support:

• Assist in month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and external reporting standards.

Commissions and Reporting:

• Calculate and process sales commissions accurately and in a timely manner.
• Contribute to SaaS-specific financial reporting, such as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) and related metrics.

System and Process Improvement:

• Work with tools like QuickBooks Online (QBO), Salesforce (SFDC), and other billing software to optimize workflows.
• Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting and financial processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with customer success, sales, and other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and analyses to support strategic initiatives and company growth.

Qualifications

Required:Experience

• 2+ years managing accounts receivable, billing, collections, commissions, and customer order review in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with accounting and operational software like QBO, SFDC, and billing tools.
• You have worked and thrived in a remote start up environment.

Education

• Experience in a growth-stage software company.
• Strong foundational understanding of SaaS operations and reporting metrics such as ARR and retention reporting.
• A proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements.

Compensation

$60k-$75k expected base salary range*
