Position Summary:
We are looking for a talented & driven Senior Research Associate II (SRA II) to join our Analytical Department and to play a key role in the development and execution of a variety of analytical test methods required for biological products. This SRA II will be one of the in-house experts regarding chromatographic methods used to characterize these biologics. The analytical development SRA II will develop and conduct routine testing to support process development, characterization, and formulation and stability studies of recombinant protein products.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert responsible for developing robust analytical methods and expanding product and process understanding.
- Develop and execute bioanalytical or molecular assays (e.g. chromatography, electrophoresis/CE assays) under the guidance of leadership.
- Identify issues, lead troubleshooting experiments, and determine solutions with minimal to no guidance.
- Train users on method execution, data analyses, and proper use of instrumentation.
- Assist qualification and transfer of analytical methods to external stakeholders.
- Routinely present work at team, technical team, and department meetings.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory notebooks.
- Analyzing, interpreting, and presenting data to internal and external stakeholders (Power Point Presentations).
- Assist/Author, review and approve technical documents, including methods, protocols, reports, and SOPs.
- Facilitate smooth operation of the laboratory, including ordering, machine maintenance, sample management, etc.
Qualifications:
- BS in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, or related field with 6+ years of relevant industry experience. Equivalent relevant experience and degree may be substituted.
- Proven experience with physicochemical analytical techniques such as chromatography, electrophoresis/CE, etc.
- Experience working with Waters UPLC system/ Empower software and Agilent U/HPLC Systems
- Methods: SEC-U/HPLC, ProA, CEX, RP-UPLC, ProteinSimple Maurice CE-SDS and cIEF
- Experience with proteins characterization preferred.
- Strong problem-solving ability to troubleshoot complex technical and scientific problems.
- Strong attention to details.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
- Strong and collaborative work ethic; must be a self-starter and persistent in achieving objectives to support Synthekine’s scientific and business goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with data analysis and interpretation using software (e.g., Excel, Prism Graphpad).
- Track record of successful transfer and management of analytical methods.
- Experience with writing technical and regulatory documents for interdepartmental use and external vendors (e.g., CMOs).
The anticipated salary range for the position of Senior Research Associate II based in our Menlo Park, CA office is $102,000 - $123,750. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Synthekine is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states. We comply with all state, federal and local laws regarding pay practices.
