About the team and the role:
TCGplayer connects hobbyists and hobby businesses to communities. We relentlessly improve the exchange of things and thoughts that fuel passions, providing the most compelling destination and tools for collectible card game enthusiasts and professional sellers! TCGplayer, now a part of eBay, promotes and drives growth of our products and services by connecting a global community of millions of buyers with tens of thousands of retailers in a $25B global collectible hobby market.
As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to large, mission critical, technical projects that span multiple development teams. Your team will be primarily responsible for enhancing the order management and fulfillment experience for our sellers. You will be uplifting legacy applications into a microservice based architecture using the latest and greatest technologies. You will work closely with other development teams to bring a cohesive and intuitive selling experience to our customers across TCGplayer’s suite of tools. Due to the criticality of point-of-sale software to a seller’s business, you are someone who places extra rigor on software quality, security, observability and more. If you’re an experienced and disciplined engineer, with a desire to make a difference in the way we build new tools, this might be the perfect opportunity!
What you will accomplish:

Enhance our order management capabilities as we expand internationally and into an omni-channel selling experience.

You will lead the development of frontend architecture and design, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, responsive web applications.

You will collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to implement new features and enhance existing ones.

You will learn the latest frontend technologies and industry trends, integrating best practices into the development process.

You will contribute to the improvement of TCGplayer’s Design Language System, driving innovation, efficiency, and cohesiveness across our tooling.
What you will bring:

Relevant Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of relevant industry or academic experience, or relevant Master's Degree plus 5 years of relevant industry or academic experience, or 12 years of practical experience.

8+ years of frontend development experience with JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks, preferably Vue.

Expertise with CSS preprocessors like Sass or LESS, modern CSS techniques, and responsive web development.

Expertise with testing frameworks and libraries such as Jest, Mocha, Jasmine, or Cypress for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.

Advanced knowledge of web accessibility (a11y) standards and best practices, such as WCAG 2.

Experience with JavaScript build tools and bundlers such as Vite, Webpack, and Rollup.

Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.

Excellent verbal and written communication, leadership and collaboration skills.
