Job Description
Platform Product development is going through transformation to drive adoption for Click to Pay across multiple regions with more authentication mechanism and payment features. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be integral part of this transformation and will be solving challenging business problems and build highly scalable and available applications that provide an excellent user experience. Here are key responsibilities of the role -
- Design, document and implement new systems, as well as enhancements and modifications to existing software with code that complies with design specifications and meets security and Java best practices.
- Full-stack development contributes to the design of backend databases and queries, API creations and consumptions, and contributes to frontend UI development.
- Interact with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver high quality products and services that meet business requirements and expectations while applying the latest available tools and technology
- Have a passion for delivering zero defect code and be responsible for ensuring the team's deliverables meet or exceed business expectations
- Identify opportunities for product innovation and strive for improvements to best practices, standards and processes.
- Works independently with minimal insight to develop software that conforms to Visa’s high standards of security, quality, performance, resiliency, and compliance.
- Mentor junior developers to ensure deliverables are on time with good code quality
- Coordinate Continuous Integration activities, testing automation frameworks and other related items in addition to contributing core product code
- Supports test engineers and operation teams in troubleshooting, defect research, issue root cause analysis, and other related activities.
- Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two/three days a week, Wednesdays and Thursdays and alternate Fridays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:-
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
- Expertise in front-end technologies, including JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5 and third-party libraries such as ReactJS, Angular, jQuery and Less.js
- Knowledge of multiple back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js) is plus
- Experience with UI/UX design
- Experience with agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, and Jenkins.
- Ability to create wireframes and responsive designs that result in a great user experience.
- Expert building web applications from the ground up.
- Develop code that aligns with design specifications and meets security and standard coding quality processes. Coding must adhere to all standards for security & quality, be easily maintainable and have high system performance.
- Build conceptual architecture diagrams, design documents, maintain code repository, build unit/functional tests, and assist with code reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems.
