About the Role:

We’re looking for a sr staff software engineer to help us focus on automating tedious HR tasks for internal and external customers!  The role is very hands-on, working with internal stakeholders to document their manual processes, and then automate the ones that make the most sense!  You’ll help prioritize features with our partners in Product and Design, and help people do amazing things faster than ever, by choosing the right approach based on the opportunity, and leading the team to implement it, test it, launch it and measure the improvement.

About the Team:

The HR Apps team is a tight-knit group of great people working to make HR easier for our customers, both internal and external!  We own features across compliance, recruiting, employee engagement and development, and are looking for more.  We love experimentation, quick iterations, collaboration and celebrating what we learn in the process.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

  • Work with cross-functional partners to identify targets for automation, choose an approach and work together to launch improvements.
  • Mentor more junior colleagues on how to think about automation, improve their skills, and help them reach their potential.
  • Use your experience in platform automation, machine learning and full stack development to build world class experiences for internal and external customers.
  • Build your skills in product development, leadership and project management as you work with folks from across the organization.

Here’s what we're looking for:

  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally with a background in platform automation, testing and integrating machine learning into products, and full-stack web development.
  • The maturity and flexibility to evaluate the possible approaches for a feature, and choose the right approach for what we’re trying to solve!.
  • Experience mentoring engineering teams, and leading technical innovation and best practices.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, both as a practitioner and mentor.
  • Ideally, you love collaborating with both technical and non-technical partners to solve problems and find new opportunities to tackle.

Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $191,000/yr to $237,000/yr in Denver & most remote locations, and $225,000/yr to $279,000/yr for San Francisco, Seattle & New York. Stock equity is additional. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
