We are looking for a Sr. Staff Application Engineer to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Director, Application Engineering and based in Taiwan.
Role and Responsibilities:
The Application Engineer at Bloom is the primary driver of technical sales activities, developing customer relationships and requirements for the implementation of distributed generation products and solutions. You will use in-depth product and industry knowledge to provide technical expertise to the customer through technical sales presentations, detailed customer engagements developing strategic requirements documentation and the development of product solutions to meet those requirements. Additionally, you will create conceptual designs and implementation specifications to demonstrate the feasibility of Bloom’s solution.
The Application Engineer must have experience working independently in a competitive sales environment with a focus on eliminating technical barriers and representing a highly technical product or service related to the power industry. You must have a strong understanding of a broad set of engineering and construction solutions and can manage the internal and external pre-sales solution development process.

Highly dynamic technical sales professional who can navigate the business and technical segments of a deal seamlessly

Responsible for supporting quota attainment by providing technical support and expertise direct to customers in support of sales objectives

Responsible for defining customer requirements and establishing product specifications for customer solutions. Produce project specific contract inputs as needed

Technically support the Sales team with Bid and Proposal writing

Understanding and overcoming customer technical objections and securing approval to proceed with project key

Responsible for providing technical feedback based on customer requirements regarding engineering and product management based on customer input and engagement

Define scope of work during pre-sales process leveraging internal and external resources with conceptual designs to implement electrical, mechanical & civil infrastructure connections between Bloom Energy system, customer site, and utility

Able to travel as needed in support of sales objectives, both domestic and international
Qualifications and desired characteristics

Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university or college with a power systems focus

6+ years in a customer facing and support role
-
3+ years relevant experience in power generation technology, i.e. gas turbines, reciprocating engines, battery storage, wind and solar, in different roles and ability to articulate the value proposition to customers

Background in energy related technology and solutions

Strong skills in the areas of collaboration, communication and critical thinking are critical

Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and English – both written and oral
