What Payroll contributes to Cardinal Health
Human Resources designs, implements and delivers human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, talent management, diversity and inclusion, compensation and benefits, among others. This function anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs in alignment with business strategies.
Payroll processes the organization's payroll according to company policy and applicable regulations, ensuring that employees are paid accurately and timely with correct withholding and deductions. This job family maintains payroll records and calculates overtime, shift payments, sales commissions and bonuses, taxes and deductions. Payroll prepares reports for management and to meet regulatory and collective bargaining obligations and addresses questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters.
Responsibilities

Demonstrates Knowledge of payroll laws and practices

Interprets policy and documents payroll process

Manages payroll cycles and all associated process and audits

Provides payroll consultation

Interfaces with payroll vendor and monitors/manages vendors delivery on service level agreements

Defines and maintains standard operating procedures for all payroll processes

Resolves complex employee inquiries regarding pay, tax, and associated payroll processes

Supports US, Canada and Puerto Rico payroll
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
-
2+ years' experience in payroll, preferred
-
FPC Certification, preferred

Experience with payroll systems, such as Workday, ADP WFN, ADP Smart Compliance, Kronos, or other systems preferred

Experience with large employer/multi-state payroll tax knowledge, tax filings, forms and process strongly preferred

Experience with benefits, open enrollments, and compensation preferred
