Overview
The Sr. Solutions Engineer is a member of the Warehouse Solutions team. The primary role of this position is to analyze customer's inventory and shipment data, design logistics and supply-chain solutions for new and existing customers, produce costing models and layouts, and present the solution to internal and external customers.
Responsibilities
- Analyze data in RFP based proposals for new and existing customers
Design processes, model labor hours, plan staffing and shift requirements - Analyze and model storage methodology of inventory, calculate space requirements
- Engineer storage and material handling equipment
- Investigate the use of automation, calculate ROI
- Build cost models and generate pricing sheets
- Present solutions to internal stakeholders and external customers
- Document technical solutions used to design the process and assist in writing business proposals, data-visualization charts, etc.
- Assist in the development and achievement of strategic business process KPI’s and metrics
- Lead or participate in cross functional teams to develop and maintain efficiencies utilizing Kaizen events and Lean Six Sigma methodologies
- Maintain a positive relationship with both internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline required
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data-analysis or process-engineering type fields
- Must be proficient in MS Excel
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Quantitative data analysis (MS Excel based)
- Critical thinking: Analyze data to reach a design goal
- Divergent thinking: generate solution design ideas by exploring many possible options
- Presentation skills: ability to inform and persuade complex results to non-engineering teams
- Skilled in personal organization and task management to meet tight deadlines
- Work within a cross-functional team (engineering, operations, IT, Sales)
- Must be able to use AutoCAD and Microsoft Office products (Visio, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Preferred familiarity with MS Access, VBA (MS Excel macros), time measurement techniques (MOST, MTM, MODAPTS, etc.)
- Ability to travel: 5% to 15%
