Job Summary:

The Avnet Integrated Solutions’ Technical Solutions team is a looking for a Senior Project Management (PM) resource that can come into a dynamic and growing Services Solutions organization and help accelerate onboarding and time to revenue. This is a role that will serve as the bridge between Services business development our Service operations team.

The senior Solutions Development PM (SDPM) will work closely with Service Solution leadership, Services Business Development Managers (SBDM), Solution Architects (SA), and Technical Support Engineering (TSE) resources to align customer scope to our capabilities and then drive project execution until it is viable to transition to a Service Program Manager (SPM), who will sustain the ongoing business. Projects may start at any point in the product lifecycle and the product applications and solutions will vary greatly, including products not produced by Avnet. Given the wide-ranging product and service scope, onboarding projects will require the ability to rapidly build relationships with clients, various Integrated Solutions’ organizations, and third-party implementation partners to effectively establish a successful and collaborative team environment.

The SDPM will also provide critical support with short-term execution of service solutions projects to enable pursuit of run rate service opportunities. In this capacity the SDPM will also provide complete tactical PM support for pilot projects prior to opportunity award, and for any service solution requiring further maturation prior to meet onboarding entrance criteria.

All projects are focused on Services revenue growth and may be in support of one or more service focus areas, such as: pre-sales technical services, post-production deployment services, and product lifecycle support service offerings.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Support and advise Service Business Development managers, as needed, during customer solution discovery, requirements gathering, and Statement of Work (SOW) development and execution.

  • Manage development and execution of Services outlined in customer SOW, which may require tactical execution of smaller projects leading to a larger and run-rate service program.

  • Develops strategic relationships with customers, service partners/suppliers and peers to identify and leverage business goals through enablement of high value pre-production services and post deployment services.

  • Creates and manages comprehensive project plans to enable development of new solutions or ease onboarding new customers and product lines using project management software, tools, templates, and techniques.

  • Identifies and sequences all activities and dependencies, assesses the need for resources, defines timeframes, establishes milestones, obtains commitment of resource availability.

  • Works with subject matter experts on customer-focused strategies that align with all current Service capabilities and some that may be immerging or at a lesser level of maturity.

  • Establishes a project communications plan.

  • Manages risk to project success by initiating corrective actions.

  • Assists with development and/or execution of processes, tools, and dashboards to manage onboarding performance.

  • Ensures both Avnet and customer adherence to contractual agreement including identifying options available to enable additional Return on Investment (ROI) and manages required activity with all the various support organizations in support of delivering customer service level expectations to the point it is transitioned to sustaining Program Manager.

  • Informs key stakeholders of issues and changes which may impact expected results and successful project implementation.

  • Establishes project objectives and defines project success criteria in terms of cost, schedule, deliverables, quality, and client satisfaction.

  • Serves as consultant to management and/or internal/external spokesperson for the organization on major initiatives related to policies, plans and long-range objectives.

  • Actions may impact the organization and its reputation. Effects of erroneous decisions may be long-lasting, influence the future course of the organization and/or require the expenditure of extensive additional resources.

  • This position is preferred to be near our Avnet Integrated facility in Chandler, AZ, with a flex work from home schedule, but can also be fully remote outside of AZ.

  • This position may allow for part time to start, and then transition to full time.


Work Experience:

  • Typically 8+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.


Education and Certification(s):

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.


Distinguishing Characteristics:

  • Experience managing global customer engagements in Service Supply Chain, Field Services, or Repair and Refurbishment highly desired.

  • Prior experience in Project Management of Product Development, NPI, or product deployment is a plus.

  • Experience supporting a BD team, and SOW development.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Project, Excel, Word & PowerPoint).

  • Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical education a plus.

  • Experience with SmartSheets is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of ERP systems is a plus with SAP being preferred.

  • Experience in utilization of PLM systems is a plus.
