Position Summary:

KBR is looking for a journeyman-level software engineer to support the horizontal integration of multiple USAF open architecture programs and projects. Our team leads the charge in the USAF Autonomy open architecture development, simulation, maturation and coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessments: Prototype and assess feasibility of horizontal integration efforts across open reference architectures and multiple projects
  • Coordination: Coordinate experiments, assure complimentary lines of effort, and produce final leadership-level outbriefs of experimentation results to inform horizontal integration decision making
  • Break up scope of broad cross-cutting activities into prototype-based work to reduce risk and identify opportunities across open architectures and standards
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the technical owner of the Autonomy Integration team combining multiple projects includes: MBSE models, documentation, MS&A Simulation environment and reference software
  • Perform technical leadership of an industry consortium as a CLIN lead

Work Environment:

  • Location: On-site
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal
  • Working Hours: Standard (8am-4pm-core hours)

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Education: BS in a technical field (Prefer computer science or electrical engineering)
  • 8+ years in software development
  • Experience with software architecture and development
  • Experience with data modeling, test driven development, and mission planning
  • Experience with modern commercial software development practices using tools like GitLab, Jira, and Artifactory
  • Experience with collaborative software development in either open source or professional team environments.

Preferred:

  • Software Development Experience: 5+ years in software development in a classified working environment
  • Government Experience: Top Secret eligible, Government program experience
  • Tools Awareness: Familiarity with modern software development tools, languages, and practices
  • Architecture Knowledge: Familiarity with existing DoD open architectures, such as OMS
