The Software Engineer III designs, builds, and supports software solutions for some of the world’s largest retailers.
Our developers are involved in the entire project lifecycle: they interact directly with our business owners to understand and document requirements;
they collaborate with the implementation and test teams on design and development; and they oversee delivery and provide ongoing support for their work.
The Software Engineer III will design and develop software solutions with some architectural guidance.
The Software Engineer III will collaborate, as required, with internal and external teams to facilitate development/test, sales, interlock with third-party vendors, and improve development practices.
They will perform code reviews to junior engineers.
The incumbent will excel in our fast-paced, collaborative, customer-first environment and will contribute in a variety of ways.
Hard Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing in C++ environments.
- 5+ years of Object-Oriented development.
- Proficiency in Programming Design Patterns.
- Excellent Analytical and Problem solving skills.
- Experience working with agile methodologies.
- Experience working with SCRUM agile ceremonies.
- English Level: Proficient in speaking, listening and writing.
- JIRA software management application.
- GITLab platform.
- Jenkins.
- Teams and Outlook Microsoft tools.
Soft Skills:
Great communication skills to lead and contribute in technical discussions with external and internal peers.
Proficient writing skills to document technical details of bug fixes and features; conduct written communication with external and internal peers.
Nice to have:
Experience in Retail POS software.
Knowledge of Electronic Payment ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze requirements, Design new functionalities and generate according documentation, implement design by coding using object-oriented principles.
- Debug and analyzes internal and field defects.
- Code bug fixes for internal and field defects.
- Mentors junior engineers.
- Contributes to the team workload removing technical blockers and guiding team members to internal and field defect resolution.
- Certifies peer code following coding guidelines.
