The SDET will be leading our testing efforts across multiple teams and guide integration testing across Kafka, Boomi and containerized environments for our Enterprise Integration Enablement team. The role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and thought leadership in designing test frameworks, executing integration tests into CI/CD pipeline and helping to shift testing left. A successful candidate who will collaborate closely with development teams and help drive seamless deployments to improve product quality and performance. 

Responsibilities

  • Design and Implement tests to support integrations across Kafka and Boomi. Develop and maintain an automated integration test suite for distributed systems involving Boomi, Kafka and Gravitee API Gateway.   

  • Ensure containerized testing by building and managing environments via Docker and Kubernetes for scalable and repeatable testing. 

  • Lead the test strategy for the event-driven API systems and integrations using Boomi and Apache Kafka. 

  • Drive reusable testing for components for Kafka consumer/producers, REST APIs and Boomi endpoints 

  • Drive test automation in the CI/CD pipeline, enabling early and reliable feedback. 

  • Validate End-to-End Data flow testing of data pipelines and real-time messaging across services, ensuring message integrity, performance and resilience. 

  • Work closely with developers to ensure well-coordinated test strategies and CI/CD integration. 

  • Monitor system behavior, expand automated test coverage and ensure test suites are CI/CD compatible and production ready. 

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on the implemented tests across the Integration test suite. 

  • Stay current with industry trends, integration testing tools, ensuring best practices are embedded into the integration test suites. 

  • Act as a subject matter expert for the Integration test suite, driving the adoption of best practices and technical standards across the team. 

  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the integration test suite, focusing on operational efficiency and delivering business value. 

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of integration architecture and patterns, including API-led connectivity and event-driven architecture. 

  • Strong technical background with Boomi which includes designing, developing and managing integration processes, connectors and error handling. 

  • Solid understanding of Apache Kafka including producers/Consumers, topics, partitions and message retention for real-time data streaming and event driven systems. 

  • Knowledge of API management platforms, specifically Gravitee, including designing API proxies, security policies, rate limiting and analytics. 

  • Strong foundation in Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration and CI/CD best practices for deploying scalable microservices. 

  • Familiarity with RESTFUL and SOAP web services, OAuth2/OpenID authentication protocols and message formats such as JSON and XML. 

  • Demonstrated success in designing, implementing the test automation framework across Kafka, Boomi and containerized environments. 

  • Solid understanding of regression testing principles including the importance of test suites, test cases and scenarios. 

  • Ability to design effective test cases that cover various scenarios and edge cases. 

  • Skills in debugging test failures and identifying the root cause of issues. 

  • Ability to document test cases, test results and any issues encountered during testing. 

  • Strong scripting and programming ability in languages such as Java, Python or JavaScript for custom connectors or data transformations. 

  • Expertise in using Kafka streams, schema registry for managing real-time event processing. 

  • Capable of implementing robust monitoring, logging and alerting for integration flows and APIs using tools like Grafana. 

  • Effective in CI/CD pipeline integration using Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD. 

  • Experience with event streaming and real-time data processing architectures.

  • Able to design scalable, maintainable integration solutions across Hybrid environments. 

  • Capable of implementing the test automation framework across Kafka, Boomi and containerized environments. 

  • Excellent problem solving and debugging capabilities in complex distributed systems. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, Devops. 

  • Ability to work in Agile/Scrum environment and deliver high quality outcomes under tight deadlines. 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related technical fields. 

  • Familiarity with Boomi or similar iPaaS Platform 

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with Apache Kafka. 

  • At least 2 years of experience working with API management platforms ideally Gravitee. 

  • 2+ years of experience working with containers and Kubernetes in production environments. 

  • Extensive experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development for integrations. 

Preferred

  • Experience with modern front-end and back-end frameworks (Node.js) 

  • Demonstrated success in automating test frameworks across complex enterprise environments 

  • Experience with iPaas technology (Boomi), Kafka streams 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Gitlab CI/CD 

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues and lead to the root cause analysis. 

  • Experience with event streaming and real-time processing  

We believe in fair compensation for all of our people, which is why our pay structure takes into account the cost of labor across U.S. geographic markets. For this position, we offer a pay range of $81,400 -- $220,700 annually, with pay varying depending on work location and job-related factors such as knowledge, position level and experience. During the hiring process, your recruiter can provide more information about the specific salary range for the job location. 

CHG Healthcare offers starting salaries for sales positions in the form of total target compensation (TTC = base + commission + bonus), which includes base pay, commission, and bonuses. Sales positions receive short-term incentives through commission plans and bonuses. On the other hand, non-sales positions have starting salaries that consist of a base salary and short-term incentives through various bonus plans, which are paid out monthly, quarterly, or annually.
