ROLE OVERVIEW: Manages a team of sales professionals and/or sales managers.  Possesses sales responsibility for assigned region and/or strategic key accounts, including pricing, negotiation, developing relationships, maintaining existing business and developing new business opportunities. Partners with cross-functional resources, including internal and external stakeholders to develop optimal sales strategies. Leads projects that drive new product and/or service offerings. Provides input to the development of the sales strategy. Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years of experience including 3-5 years of managerial experience.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Cultivates long-term strategic customer relationships through understanding the customer’s business, delivering a value creation focus, and enhancing customer satisfaction. 
  • Develops and advances new business opportunities through the sales cycle using account planning, strategic focus, and enterprise-wide selling skills.
  • Develops and maintains tactical marketing plans. 
  • Contributes to the development of strategies and pricing for assigned strategic accounts.
  • Develops and negotiates contracts that encompass the breadth of products and services with assigned accounts.
  • Understand product advantages, disadvantages, and product substitution opportunities. 
  • Communicates effectively with all organizational levels and cross-functional stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Oversees relationships with plants that service customers in the assigned territory, product area, or accounts.
  • Organizes and leads projects driving new product and/or service offerings.
  • Completes sales forecasting and reporting as required.
  • Communicates goals and objectives, applies company policy, staffs, trains, coaches, recommends salary increases, ensures positive colleague relations, and reviews the performance of colleagues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience 

  • Typically possesses a Bachelor's degree and 12 or more years of experience including 3-5 years of managerial experience. 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Possesses in-depth experience in sales, specifically managing strategic accounts.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer focus.
  • Possesses proven ability and experience with developing and maintaining business relationships.
  • Possesses strong business acumen and a strategic focus.
  • Proven ability to make and close sales.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Travel is required.
