This opportunity entails being responsible for managing, overseeing, and coordinating the delivery of General Engineering Consultants (GECs) deliverables, on time, on budget, to the committed scope, and to the Client's expectations. This also entails advising Client counterpart at the state Department of Transportation on major an critical issues dealing with day to day challenges on the project(s). Responsibilities include assisting the Client in setting all GEC deliverables expectations, working hand in hand with our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in a Program Management Consultancy environment, shepherding preliminary GEC(s) to advance designs to preliminary phase (at least 30%), on major super mega multi-Billion dollar express lanes project(s). The candidate must have a good understanding of the NEPA/Environmental workflow processes and activities, to set expectations for the GEC to clear the project(s) environmentally, to successfully achieve NEPA approvals, just in time for the project(s) to enter into procurement for Design Build Finance Operate Maintain Developer(s).
Candidate must possess a clear understanding and the required skills to manage scope and scope changes, budgets and budget changes, and the read, understand and implement p6 schedule activities to keep the project(s) advancing to achieve on time delivery.
What You’ll Do:
- Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
- Implements the firm’s project delivery plan using HNTB’s Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project.
- Develops project scope and fee quotation, and assists in the preparation of proposals and contracts.
- Provides oversight and monitoring of work to less experienced project managers. Coordinates work efforts and review work performed. Schedules and manages for integration of quality management during all phases of a project.
- Oversees project staffing with departments, offices and divisions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant degree
- 16 years relevant experience
- In lieu of education, 20 years relevant experience
What We Prefer:
- PE/AICP
- PMP
- Proficiency in MS tools, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- The ability to quickly learn Document Management systems, such as eBuilder, Sharepoint, ProjectWise
- The ability to communicate clearly with Client and GEC(s)
- The ability to facilitate and/or co-facilitate meetings
- A solid understanding of highway infrastructure, and reading and interpreting design documents
- Technical writing skills
