The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, oversight, and successful delivery of a portfolio of projects and programs within a defined area of the Village. Project success is measured in terms of scope, schedule, budget, quality, and user satisfaction. Activities could include directly managing other project management resources, partnering with a diverse group of cross-functional teammates, and supporting Leaders from ideation through post implementation or project completion. Project scope could be Business, Clinical, Regulatory, Technical in nature and could involve the design and implementation of new business processes or digital capabilities. This role will be a part of the Program Management Office (PMO) within the Digital Product team and responsible for:
- Actively monitor the status of all projects and programs in a defined portfolio using standard metrics
- Provide clear, concise updates to Leadership on a regular cadence in both written and verbal formats
- Ensure that approved projects are managed and conducted in accordance with the appropriate Village guidelines, standards, and templates
- Oversee Project Managers, Supervisors, and Coordinators
- Partner with Business, Clinical, and IT Leaders and project teammates to mitigate risks, address issues, and implement strategic initiatives
- Serve as a point of contact for Project Management issue escalation and resolution; lead cross-functional teams to develop approach and activities to resolve
- Implement process improvement as appropriate within the PMO; refine project and program management standards, tools, and templates as appropriate
- Partner with Product Managers ensure prioritized Product Roadmaps are created for their respective areas and can be easily understand by Business and Clinical stakeholders
- Create and maintain project management documentation, including status reporting
- Track and manage Program value
- Focus on work planning, estimating, scheduling, & management of software deployment and rollout to Corporate Teammates or Clinic Teammates across the Enterprise
- Manage program scope and change control process
- Lead and deliver complex special projects
- Create and deliver Executive level communications, to both Business and IT Leadership
- Actively engage in strategic discussions in support of key PMO and Program initiatives
Tasks will likely involve:
- Leading teams to implement large-scale Program Management practices to reduce risk, drive efficiencies, and effectiveness in delivering programs and projects
- Establishing key metrics that are defined and tracked; and that improvements result in a positive, sustainable impact for programs and projects
- Building on existing PMO structure to deliver transparency to scope, progress, financials, etc
- Distilling complex business problems into cohesive, impactful stories; build appropriate horizontal and vertical logic in presentations.
- Building and managing project plans that drive accountability for complex, cross-functional initiatives.
The Sr. Project Manager will work as part of a team comprised of highly motivated individuals with management consulting, software development and other similar backgrounds and experience, and is expected to effectively manage individual work streams.
This role provides excellent exposure to the DaVita Executive leadership team, as this function regularly meets with and provides updates to senior leaders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Stream Engagement:
Become a trusted member of assigned DaVita Program teams and develop deep understanding of work being performed. Collaborate with Program work stream leads to pull together status, minimizing their time commitments, identify problems, risks, and issues before they impact Program’s success.
Collaborative Problem Solving: Demonstrate first-principles thinking in analyzing problems
and engaging with teammates. Leverage hypotheses-based approach to identify, validate, and quantify opportunities. Lead sessions to identify root cause and corrective action plan for any issues that arise.
Written & Oral Communication:
Ability to communicate complex business issues / risks at an executive level. Convey findings in a cohesive story, including summarizing insights from analysis. Build appropriate horizontal and vertical logic in professionally prepared PowerPoint decks. Present comfortably and compellingly to senior audiences. Work closely with teammates to develop long-standing relationships with operators and clinicians.
Travel: 25% travel may be required
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Program Management, Business or IT Consulting, complex Project Management, software development, or corporate strategy role preferred. Experience leading large-scale business transformations with tangible impact on business performance. Ability to quickly establish relationships with key stakeholders and all levels of the Program.

- Healthcare background preferred
- Familiarity with multiple software development methodologies ranging from Agile to traditional waterfall
- Experience rolling out complex software applications to multiple locations across an Enterprise
- Ability to work out of Nashville or Denver market preferred
