Job Description:

The Sr. Process Engineer is the subject matter expert for the development, operation, and maintenance of in-line automation processes for Spark and Ormco production lines. The Sr. Process Engineer will develop and update engineering documents and investigating new tooling, materials, processes, and technologies for continuous improvement. This position is expected to work on-site, enabling them to engage fully with colleagues and contribute to cross-functional initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and refine the Spark and Ormco production lines for the in-line automated processes ensuring alignment with manufacturing principles.
  • Develops, tests, verifies and maintains the hardware and software used for Spark and Ormco production lines.
  • Develops, tests and verifies the methods and standard work used in the in-line automated processes for Spark and Ormco production lines. Prepares training materials and manages the training of operators to those methods and standard work documents.
  • Train production teams and implementation of new automated processes effectively.
  • Monitors the in-line automated processes for Spark and Ormco production lines used globally in all manufacturing sites and helps guide and assist in the root cause analysis and countermeasure development for any issues that may arise.
  • Lead process development, design transfer, verification, and validation activities within the local quality management system to meet the design requirements and manufacturability standards.
  • Able to lead projects from start to finish and works well cross-functional teams.
  • Responsible for finding the root cause to problems and creating then implementing a solution.
  • Regular reporting of progress to the engineering team, both verbally and through written reports
  • Develop product cost estimates, and project cost, equipment cost and timeline estimates.
  • Provide technical input for capital appropriation requests.
  • Follows quality and safety protocols and maintains a clean working environment. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by Manager.

Job Requirements:

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
    • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing process engineering or R&D engineering.
    • 5+ years of experience with 3D CAD Software (SolidWorks) and tools, including the ability to create, understand and interpret complex assemblies and engineering drawings.
    • Experience working in an FDA-regulated environment or similar regulated industry such as Aerospace or Automotive
    • Experience with automation hardware and controls software is highly desired

    PREFERRED:

    • Experience working with tight tolerances is a plus.
    • Experience working with 3D printing, metal injection molding, and non-contact metrology equipment and processes is a plus.
    • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

    ABILITIES:

    • Must possess excellent Communication (Technical, Oral, Written) and the ability to describe complex technical issues clearly.
    • Able to follow instructions and guidelines set forth by the Engineering Manager.
    • Able to support Spark and Ormco production goals regarding Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
    • Sound understanding of regulatory and compliance documentation processes, review cycles and information repositories (meeting minutes, templates, charter documentation etc.).
    • Strong interpersonal skills that create followership and motivate team members.
    • Driven and motivated individual with demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
    • Unquestionably high ethical standards and attention to reputational and compliance risks.
    • Organized thinker that can prioritize tasks in real time and exercise judgment in high-paced environment.
    • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 
    • Ability to calculate rates, ration and percent to draw and interpret graphs.
    • Ability to discern trends and analyze operational and financial reports.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
    • Must possess excellent technical judgment and able to set logical action plan and technical problem resolution.                           
    • Competent with use of personal computers and strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Project is required. Able to type at least 50 WPM.
    • Ability to research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements based on fundamental engineering principles.
    • Under general supervision, plan, conduct, lead, and report on significant projects.  Review progress, evaluate results, and inform company management on assigned project direction and status.
    • A team player that can work well under constrained deadlines and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel.
    • Follows directions well and is a self-starter in identifying what is critical to the success of the project. 
    • Ability to travel at least 10% of the time to various manufacturing sites, both domestically and internationally, to oversee process implementation and provide on-site support.

    Target Market Salary Range:

    Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.

    $92,500 - $138,700
