Job Summary
This role, reporting to the Vice President of Portfolio Investments, provides an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic analytics and modeling team. The position focuses on advancing the company’s valuation and hedging strategies related to Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSRs) and associated liabilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in daily hedging operations, as well as conducting mortgage prepayment and credit analysis. We seek individuals with strong analytical and modeling expertise to drive the pricing and valuation of MSRs and residential mortgage assets while collaborating with cross-functional teams in structured finance, accounting, and risk management.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform and review all periodic (daily, monthly, and quarterly) hedging practices, report and analyze the outputs, and communicate with the stakeholder of the operation.
- Optimize and streamline the modeling process and avoid operational and data error.
- Develop and maintain pricing models and analytical tools to support the growth of the investment portfolio.
- Create, enhance and maintain control reports for auditors and regulators.
- Provide MSR valuation support to other functional areas when needed.
- Conduct attribution analysis and stress testing of the managed portfolio.
- Other Ad hoc analytical projects as needed
Required Experience & Education
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in mortgage or fixed income related Capital Markets, Finance, or related function.
- Relevant experience in prepayment/default modeling or credit analytics.
- Relevant experience with MSRs, whole loans, derivatives or other fixed income products.
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, mathematics, economics or equivalent (master’s preferred).
- MSR Valuation experience is required.
- Experience in in prepay/default risk modeling, OAS valuation and relative value analysis preferred.
- Experience with Polypath, MIAC, or QRM is highly preferred.
- Expert proficiency with Excel is required with VBA experience.
- SQL experience is a must. Be able to code in MS SQL (TSQL) in a clean and sufficient way.
- Excellent quantitative skills and strong written/verbal communications skills.
