Start your future with a new mission, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, located in Elkridge, MD has an immediate need for a Sr. Principal Mission Assurance Engineer in Land and Maritime Sensors Business Unit.
Responsibilities of the Sr Principal Mission Assurance Engineer are, but not limited to:

Performs or assures quality, risk management, safety, reliability and maintainability of program achievements, subcontractors, and suppliers

Assesses program performance and risks and determines resources and cost targets to ensure MA effectiveness

Provides technical solutions which support Quality Management System (QMS) functions on system integration, software and hardware engineering, development, test, integration, and production programs
-
Utilize customer and Northrop Grumman Mission Assurance policies and procedures, such as ISO 9001/AS9100, to help realize those solutions
-
Define, gather, evaluate, and effectively present process and quality metrics to assist with program efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement

Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place
-
Actively engages in proposals for quality along with supplier evaluation, and qualification as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurement are required on existing programs
-
Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
-
May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality

Drives quality outcomes for suppliers and operations
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM/Technical discipline with 9 years of related experience; OR a Masters with 7 years of related experience; OR 4 Years related experience with a PhD.

Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management and AS9102 First Article Inspections
-
Solid written and verbal interpersonal, communication skills and confidence to brief senior management with solid foundation in Mission Assurance applications
-
Six Sigma trained/certified or knowledge of RCCA methods and techniques
-
Ability to work in cross-functional teams to resolve problems or issues
-
Experience in quality and supplier planning
-
Awareness of the J-standard requirements
-
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Preferred Qualifications:

Certified Six Sigma Green Belt
-
General experience working with IPC standards, 610, 620, etc.

Experience with leading process improvement projects
-
Exposure to Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
-
Strong presentation & communication skills
-
Experience leadership supporting manufacturing, sustainment, electrical, and mechanical engineering organizations

SAP knowledge
Salary Range: $127,000.00 - $190,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
