Sr. Network Security Engineer (Perm #Hybrid at our Chicago HQ near O'Hare Airport)
The Sr. Security Engineer will lead complex projects involving planning, design, installation and provide technical support with Palo Alto Firewalls. Lead complex escalations from other teams and provide mentoring on security and networking technologies, methodologies and procedures. Evaluate services and strategic direction of network security products by following core competencies in various disciplines within networking, security and knowledge of credit union policy and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Partner with architecture teams to evaluate, analyze and recommend new technology solutions as they pertain to Palo Alto Network Security services. Design and implementation of new network infrastructure.
- Advanced configuration, troubleshooting and consultation on DNS, Firewalls, VPN IPSEC tunnels, IDS/IPS, Application firewalls, Palo Alto NextGen Firewalls, Proxy, Load balancers, IP routing and switching, Network monitoring and Virtualization security.
- Participate in ongoing security operations. Resolve hardware and software network problems.
- Perform audits of network security policy and infrastructure.
- Responsible for researching and testing new technologies that may provide benefit to the organization.
- Support the team in vendor selection by performing vendor research.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws, company procedures and policies.
Education:
- Bachelors Degree - Computer Science or related - Minimum
- Graduate Degree - Computer Science or related - Preferred
Years of Experience:
- 7 Years - Emerging security, network technologies or related - Minimum
In Lieu of Education:
- 9 years - Emerging security, network technologies or related
License/Certifications/Training:
- CCSP/CCNP/CISSP - Preferred
