Job Description
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain leads all aspects of supply chain and logistics to improve operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Long-term planning:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze and forecast market trends to anticipate changes in supply and demand.
- Find opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
Supply Chain Operations:
- Coordinate all aspects of the end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, production, inventory management, and distribution.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers.
- Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners.
- Implement standard methodologies in supply chain management to optimize processes.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Set performance goals and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure efficient stock levels.
- Implement inventory control procedures to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with production and sales teams to balance supply and demand.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Coordinate logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Develop and manage logistics budgets and expenditure.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and vendors.
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers.
Technology and Systems:
- Implement and maintain supply chain management software and technologies.
- Apply data analytics to drive decision-making and enhance supply chain performance.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all supply chain systems.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular reports on supply chain performance metrics.
- Conduct root cause analysis of supply chain issues and implement corrective actions.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including procurement, production, inventory management, and logistics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and technologies.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require occasional travel to supplier sites, distribution centers, and other company locations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize effectively.
