What You Can Look Forward To:
Energy Recovery, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for an immediate full-time job opening for QHSE Senior Manager, located in San Leandro, CA. This position reports to the VP of Operations and will be responsible for leading and mentoring the QHSE Team, implementing and overseeing the Quality/Safety/Environmental Management Systems, support safety/zero incident culture, PMO Team on NPI, NPD and NTD Projects, and processes. Exceeding customer expectations and achieving world-class excellence in quality is expected. What Will You Do?
- QHSE Management Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality, safety, and environmental management systems (ISO 9001/14001/45001) to ensure consistent product quality and employee safety.
- Sustainability Support: Collaborate with the Sustainability Team to meet environmental and safety-related ERII goals and objectives.
- Compliance Expertise: Provide compliance specifications and recommendations to the Production and R&D teams to ensure alignment with regulatory and internal standards.
- Audit & Inspection: Perform inspections and internal audits as needed to support production and uphold safety and quality standards.
- Supplier Management: Support supplier qualification efforts, including planning the scope and frequency of supplier audits to ensure quality and reliability.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with departments such as Supply Chain and Manufacturing Engineering to identify opportunities for reducing COGS.
- Risk Analysis: Conduct risk assessments and qualify multiple sources for critical components to ensure supply chain resilience.
- Safety Audits & Risk Assessments: Participate in safety audits, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), waste management, regulatory permits and other elements of Plant and Process Safety Management to support site safety performance.
- KPI Monitoring: Collaborate with production management to establish, monitor, and continuously improve key performance indicators.
- proposing improvements to maintain products within quality control limits.
- Operational Reviews: Deliver regular management reviews to assess the overall health of operations, with a focus on safety, quality, and performance.
- Budget Management: Develop and monitor the QHSE department’s annual budget, ensuring alignment with the company’s short- and long-term vision.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead ongoing improvements in quality data systems, first-pass yield, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives, implementing best practices across operations.
- Problem Solving & Customer Focus: Exhibit strong problem-solving skills with a customer-focused mindset, and a personal drive for success backed by professional acumen.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Education: MS/BS in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering).
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in QHSE management within light to heavy manufacturing environments such as the automotive industry.
- New Product & Process Introduction: Proven track record in successfully launching new products and implementing new processes into production.
- Data Proficiency: Strong proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with a focus on driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: A deep commitment to enhancing both quality and safety performance in a production setting.
- Certifications: Highly desirable certifications include ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Six Sigma, or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Leadership & Organizational Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration.
- This position would support ERII operation in both San Leandro/CA and Tracy/CA facilities.
