Role Summary
The Sr. Manager -Procurement, Reporting & Analytics will report to the Vice President of Global Procurement & Workplace Solutions. The position will have key responsibilities as a strategic advisor to the entire Procurement organization and to the Vice President. In many ways, this is a “Chief of Staff” type function for Procurement in that the role partners closely with the Purchasing and Sourcing sides of the Procurement team to make the whole team greater than the sum of its’ parts.
The person in this role will manage prioritization for the Procurement team, with the goal of making us more efficient and effective as we partner with departments across the company. They will be responsible for all reporting, including gathering data from all of the Procurement leads on a regular basis and consolidating the results into meaningful reports to be shared across the Senior Management team of the company. They will be the central lead for project management on key initiatives within the Procurement organization to improve internally and to provide support for our Business Units. This includes partnering with respective key stakeholders across the company to identify and prioritize needs. They will develop feedback mechanisms to identify areas of improvement from internal and external stakeholders. This person is also responsible for leading departmental monthly, quarterly, and annual events and meetings. Also, they will partner with internal Shared Service organizations (i.e. Legal, Risk, Privacy, Insurance, Finance, etc.) for process improvement opportunities that extend to those teams. They will represent Procurement in Enterprise Data architecture discussions company-wide. They will be responsible for owning the Procurement policy, and training external stakeholders on that policy. This person will also drive training within the organization. They will also manage communication within Procurement and about Procurement to the broader Sophos company, including managing and maintaining the internal Hub Communications site.
The right candidate will have excellent teamwork skills and partnering ability with multiple departments and stakeholders, as well as being able to present and communicate effectively (both oral and written) with all levels of management.
What You Will Do
- Partner closely with the Purchasing and Sourcing teams to identify areas of improvement
- Act as the coordination point for Procurement activities inside the organization and outside to the rest of Sophos
- Own communications, including regular department updates, managing the internal Hub and Teams sites, and leading and coordinating all department-level All Hands meetings
- Develop close working relationships at all levels to stay aware of the strategic direction, how third parties support and add value, and with the purpose of being able to find holistic solutions that meet their needs.
- Understand and research current best practices within Procurement
- Prepare regular reporting presentations on Procurement performance
- Partner with Shared Service organizations to represent Procurement with Legal, Finance, Risk, Business Units, etc.
- Lead some and support all organizational development through roadmap projects, special initiatives, etc.
- Lead regular business reviews with key suppliers.
- Create approval decks, savings cases, and contract summaries for obtaining internal buy-in.
- Work closely with Sophos business partners and their teams to lead all sourcing related activities to create significant value for the business.
- Work cross- functionally with global and regional counterparts.
- Provide information to support monthly forecasts vs actuals, project pipeline opportunities, and projected savings.
- Provide analytical support as needed
- Negotiate remediations with suppliers, when necessary.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of company operations, policies, and procedures.
- Manage highly confidential and critical information.
What You Will Bring
- 10+ years of experience in Procurement, including a background in category management expertise
- Direct experience negotiating agreements to completion across all phases of Strategic Sourcing.
- The ability to work through complex, often lengthy projects, with a sense of urgency to successful outcomes.
- An appetite for creativity, and an intellectual curiosity of how to make things better
- Ability to view all managed categories in a strategic context, and to implement those strategies.
- Partnership and relationship management expertise with business units at all levels and functions.
- Both inductive and deductive related analytical skills for problem solving and risk mitigation.
- Excellent reading comprehension and the ability to understand complex contracts.
- Strong listening, oral communication and writing skills.
- Skilled presentation experience to large audiences and executive leaders.
- Able to work across cultures effectively, valuing diversity within a virtual team.
- Track record of performance with measurable results and successful outcomes
In the United States, the base salary for this role ranges from $146,000 to $244,000. In addition to base salary, we offer additional compensation including bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits package. A candidate’s specific pay within this range will depend on a variety of factors, including job-related skills, training, location, experience, relevant education, certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
