Job Summary

Monitors the effectiveness of human resources compliance programs and stays abreast of all applicable legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources activities to ensure compliance with the company’s policies, procedures, and reporting activities.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Manages and implements organizational programs in accordance with regulations, including plan development, reporting, training, and providing full cycle day-to-day support and OFCCP audit support.
  • Oversees compliance course, I-9, immigration, policy reviews, and employment law full life cycle programs to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Collaborates cross functionally to make recommendations on proper utilization of applicable compliance programs and employment law requirements.
  • Seeks process improvement opportunities, audits standard human resources processes and partners with process owners to implement efficiencies, ensure compliance, and mitigate business risk.
  • Establishes and manages human resources compliance roadmap and focus areas within the business while serving as an internal consultant, providing day-to-day advice and counsel to various business leaders.
  • Manages vendor relationships for HR compliance systems and partners cross functionally to ensure system alignment and implementation of system changes and upgrades.
  • Maintains compliance websites for internal use and associate referencing tools and resources.
  • Selects, develops, and motivates staff.
     

Nature and Scope

  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience. May recommend/make decisions regarding new programs/initiatives that have significant impact to the business and carry consequences in unsuccessful endeavors.
  • Manages a larger team or multiple small teams through direction of subordinate management and/or supervisory staff.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of time.

Education and Experience

  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
