The Senior Manager DBA and Infrastructure owns the output of a key discipline within Database Administration and typically manages a team of Database Administration & Management job family roles. Responsible for all activities related to the administration of computerized databases, including administering database utilities, monitoring the relationships between the database users and applications, and maintaining the organization's databases across multiple platforms and computing environments. May assign personnel to various projects and directs their activities. Monitors project schedules and costs. Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods. Consults with and advises users of the various databases. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function. Prepares activity and progress reports regarding the database management section. Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and experience to set departmental goals which align with functional strategy. Focuses on achievement of departmental goals and plays a significant part in achieving functional goals.

Job Summary

Manage daily support, tasks and implementations for the Infrastructure Services and IT Operations Team.  Coordinate and manage teams and resources for projects and client implementations. Provide Operational reporting for capacity, performance and availability. Manage vendor relationships as required for procurement, projects and services.

The Sr. Manager, DBA & Infrastructure Applications is responsible for assessing the needs of the business and working with their teams to propose, implement, and support appropriate technologies and services to enable the enterprise to meet tactical and strategic objectives.

The Sr. Manager will provide direction and support related to all IT solutions specific to our mission-critical 24x7x365 operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Support and direction for daily operations and support, DR/BC, data center(s) and all other related duties. This individual will work directly with the senior management team and business leadership to identify, recommend, implement, and maintain appropriate technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 10+ years in IT Engineering/Operations and Support roles with 7+ years of supervisory/management experience.

          

Required skills

  • Knowledge of Infrastructure platforms, Database Platforms, Middleware and Infrastructure Applications and application of IT Service Management and ITIL best practices.

  • Ability to lead and manage direct reports and pillars within the organization. 

  • Ability to manage the full lifecycle responsibilities for all IT systems and strategy including operational plans that support the overall business strategy and direction.

  • Ability to create and lead technology/infrastructure vision and strategy to meet the current and future IT needs.

  • Responsible for budgeting, designing, implementing, and maintaining all enterprise infrastructure assets for assigned responsibilities.
