Position: 

Annexon is seeking an experienced Contract Administrator to oversee the life cycle of contracts and provide support on various administrative matters as needed.  Annexon seeks an exceptional candidate with a strong background as a contract administrator who can collaborate cross-functionally and communicate clearly and effectively.  Attention to detail is a MUST in this role.  You will join our fast-paced legal team, reporting to our Division Counsel.  This is a highly visible position within Annexon as you will provide training to employees and support the provision of services across the company.   

 Responsibilities include: 

  • Process all contract requests submitted through Annexon’s contract lifecycle management system from submission to execution and track the status of all contracts in process.
  • Lead daily meetings with the Contracts team, and weekly/monthly meetings with multiple high-volume departments across the company.
  • Serve as a system administrator for Annexon’s contract lifecycle management system, making necessary changes in the system when needed to user roles and workflows (including managing updates to the associated matrices for the workflows).
  • Conduct training for all new employees (and existing employees, when needed) on the contracting process and the contract lifecycle management system.
  • Draft quarterly company-wide newsletter that provides helpful reminders about the contracting process and contracts stats from the previous quarter and YTD.
  • At the direction of the Division Counsel, review/draft a wide range of contracts including CDAs, consulting agreements, change orders, sponsorship agreements and amendments.   
  • Manage the fair market value process for HCP contracting, including training appropriate employees on the process and tools, reviewing incoming FMV documents for completeness, and submitting them for Compliance approval.
  • Submit contract requests into the contract lifecycle management system for the Legal and Business Development departments.
  • Provide daily legal support to various internal clients regarding contractual obligations, process and/or system support, and effectively address legal and business questions.
  • Provide day-to-day support to Annexon’s Legal department.  
  • Ability to identify risks and communicate those risks to appropriate internal decision-makers for discussion and resolution
  • Interface with teams across the company to gauge and anticipate legal needs. 

 Education, Experience, and Skills: 

Required: 

  • At least 10 years contract administration/management experience 
  • Experience in the life sciences/biotech/pharma sector
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, ability to manage changing priorities and workflow, and the ability to effectively advance multiple simultaneous projects
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels inside and outside of the organization in a positive and effective manner
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, rapidly growing workplace, with a keen interest in providing a consistently high level of service
  • Able to work independently while exercising initiative and good judgment
  • Motivated and enthusiastic 

 Preferred:  

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Paralegal certification a plus 

Salary Range: $162,000 - $180,000

Location: Annexon Biosciences is located in Brisbane, California and preference is given to candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is an on-site position located at Annexon Headquarters.
