We are seeking passionate individuals to join our talented Directory Services team. As a member of our team, you will work on exciting projects supporting Active Directory, multi-factor authentication, DevOps pipeline development, identity verification, and application onboarding through single-sign-on (SSO). This role involves working with limited supervision within the Directory Services domain, focusing on larger and complex projects.
The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of general security frameworks and Directory Services beyond their immediate domain, recognizing how their work impacts others. You should exhibit a continuous learning mindset, advanced skills in requirements gathering, and align technical objectives with business objectives. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship within the Directory Services domain, collaborating with third-party vendors, and staying updated on IAM technologies and threats to proactively implement risk mitigation measures.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Use problem-solving skills to resolve highly complex issues independently, seeking assistance for more complex issues when needed.
- Handle highly complex issues independently but collaborate on the most complex issues.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of general security frameworks and delivery models.
- Be considered a master within a single IAM Domain.
- Possess a solid understanding of IAM and tools within their domain.
- Understand IAM outside their domain and the impact of their work on others.
- Contribute advanced knowledge to the development of engineering best practices within IAM.
- Contribute to the architecture of IAM solutions, considering scalability, security, and usability requirements.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of the organization's IAM systems and processes.
- Stay updated with the latest IAM technologies, trends, and emerging threats, implementing necessary measures to mitigate risks.
- Lead collaboration with third-party vendors and partners to evaluate IAM tools and services.
- Demonstrate advanced skills in requirements gathering and align technical objectives with business objectives.
- Troubleshoot or analyze advanced process issues, identify causes, recommend efficiencies, or provide formal reporting.
- Provide suggestions to higher-level staff on resolving new or complex issues.
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship within their IAM Domain.
- Exhibit an appetite for continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience in the IT field, with a portion of that time in a security-related position.
- 4-5 years of professional experience required.
- Experience in domains such as Directory Services (SSO/Federation, Active Directory, EntraID, AWS)
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar are highly desirable.
- Experience with engineering best practices, including analyzing, designing, developing, deploying, and supporting software solutions and/or infrastructure implementations/upgrades.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing IAM solutions, including integration with various systems and platforms.
- Competency in one or more scripting/programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Ruby, Go, PowerShell, Bash, C#, C/C++, etc.
- Strong ability to mature security practices and explain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong documentation, testing, and automation skills.
- Sense of ownership and the ability to work with a limited set of requirements.
- Capability to align technical needs with business processes and prioritize work based on business objectives.
- Ability to breakdown work to deliver value incrementally.
- Experience preferred with Agile methodologies and DevOps environments.

Pay Range - Start:
$90,930.00
Pay Range - End:
$168,870.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an in dividual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
