Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE:
Under supervision, this role adds value to the organization by supporting financial analysis that drives process improvements and more informed business decisions. This role directly supports Commercial Sales, Corporate and Field business units with ad hoc analysis, monthly operating reporting, budget, and forecasting processes. In addition, this role supports the pricing and revenue strategies to maximize revenue growth by partnering closely with the Commercial Sales team. This includes providing pro forma pricing proposals, annual price optimization analysis, and identifying areas of opportunity across the commercial value stream. As needed, this role leads, collaborates and demonstrates the lean principles and utilizes the lean methodologies and tools to facilitate continuous process improvements and value creation for our customers, employees, and shareholders. When appropriate, actively utilizes lean tools (VSM, Kaizen, A3, etc.) to inform and assess business opportunities to drive continuous improvement. Lead and participate in Kaizen and value stream mapping activities
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
FP&A Monthly Operational Reporting (40%)
1. Owns select Monthly close financial reporting with deliverables to customers: CFO, Board deck, BUs, Home Office & Operations.
2. Delivers ad hoc analysis and insights, synthesizing business patterns and shares with the Private Equity firm.
3. Assist with preparing the annual budget process, supporting Field and Corporate teams.
4. Consolidate and synthesize large datasets, with the ability to communicate concise conclusions on internal key performance indicators supporting resource allocation, volume trends and operations.
5. Create proforma profit and loss statements for select Business Units (BU) to assess cost-savings initiatives and revenue growth objectives.
Pricing and Commercial Analytics (40%)
1. In partnership with the Commercial Sales team, create proforma pricing proposals which drive volume and preserve margin goals while providing value for our customers.
2. Develop channel/segment/customer level analyses for ongoing Commercial business performance reviews.
3. Track and report on price action impact including price gains/losses, customer profiling and operations/routing impact and summarizes insights for Management.
4. With guidance, leverages statistical methods to profile customers and synthesize large pricing datasets into actionable insights. 5. Stay abreast on industry trends impacting consumer packaged goods (CPG) and external pricing tools & techniques. 4/24/2024
Data Integrity (20%)
1. Partner with Master Data and IT to ensure the integrity of BU/segment/product/customer level datasets.
2. Work with business partners and IT to migrate existing and new tools to PowerBI, validating source data.
SKILLS & ABILITY
Intermediate proficiency in Excel with the ability to manipulate large data sets
• Intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint and Word, especially as it pertains to the ability to summarize actionable data for executive review and informed decisions.
• Experience with Onestream and PowerBI, is a plus.
• Knowledge of Cost Accounting / Operations Accounting, is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and cross-functional partnership capabilities
• Bias for action and curiosityEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required
- CFA / MBA or working toward completion is a plus.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience as a financial analyst
- CPG and/or multi-location manufacturing and distribution industry experience preferred but not required
