What You'll Do
You'll get to work within a large-scale data ecosystem domain and will be focused in administration of Data platforms - anything and everything! Responsibilities will include:
- Maintain availability of Data platforms to agreed-upon service levels by coordinating with offshore and onsite resources.
- Improve predictability and reliability of Data platforms through performance tuning, capacity management, automation, and monitoring.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert in Event Streaming and\or Data Processing domains. Stay current with changes in technical areas of expertise.
- Contribute to modernization and innovations in Data platforms which includes roadmaps, platform upgrades, POCs, Tool rationalization etc.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform related issues by coordinating with Dev, Ops teams and vendors.
- Implement improvements to processes and technology that improves the reliability of platforms.
- Take on tasks as requested, following through to completion despite roadblocks and distractions.
- Triage issues and requests that come into the support queue.
- Participate in operational rotations such as on-call duty and off-hour maintenance activities. Respond to alarms and perform runbook actions as required.
- Ensure that platforms are security compliant by applying security patches on a regular basis and by remediating security vulnerabilities.
Required Skills :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or related IT/technical discipline and 4+ years of related experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' of experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or16 years' relevant experience.
- 3+ years' experience working with on-premise and cloud-based data platforms.
- 3+ years' experience scripting in Java or Python
- Deep expertise in administration of Event Streaming and/or Data Processing platforms.
- Working knowledge of Red Hat Linux, DevOps Tools, and Automation.
- Experience working in Cloud and\or Kubernetes environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting skills and ability to translate complex business problems into conceptual solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and must be able to perform duties with little or no supervision.
Preferred Skills :
- 3+ years of experience as a DevOps and\or as a Reliability Engineer.
- Expert level knowledge in Big Data platform administration (Kafka, Flink, Spark etc.,).
- Experience working with DBT, Snowflake and AWS will be a huge plus.
- Previous experience working in Informatica Cloud (IDMC) and in migration of Informatica Power Center to Cloud.
- Experience with automation and CI/CD tools such as Ansible, GitHub, Jenkins etc.
- Prior experience working in Kubernetes deployments.
- Experience working in a support role\team desired.
USD 90,100.00 - 150,100.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $90,100.00 - $150,100.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
