Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Personal Services engineering team through its next phase of growth and modernization. You will oversee product development, manage geographically distributed teams, and play a critical role in transforming a legacy system into a scalable, modern platform. This role combines strategic thinking, technical expertise, and people leadership.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Team & Delivery Leadership
- Lead and grow multiple engineering pods, including backend, frontend, QA, and mobile developers
- Drive sprint planning, delivery execution, and cross-functional collaboration with product teams
- Ensure reliability and performance of the platform while managing ongoing feature development
- Modernization & Architecture
- Guide the transition from legacy systems to modern technologies (.NET, microservices, React Native, etc.)
- Partner with architects to define scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
- Help replatform outdated components with a long-term view of technical debt reduction
- People Management
- Mentor and coach engineers and tech leads; build a strong bench of future leaders
- Create a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Promote team alignment across geographies, especially between US and India-based teams
- Process Excellence
- Implement best practices in software development, testing, CI/CD, and observability
- Own defect tracking, incident response, and ongoing technical quality metrics
- Collaborate with QA and support teams to reduce regressions and improve release reliability
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software development with 3+ years managing engineering teams
- Proven experience modernizing legacy software into modern web and mobile applications
- Strong expertise in .NET, cloud-native development, and microservice architecture
- Experience working with mobile frameworks like React Native is highly preferred
- Solid understanding of performance optimization, observability, and system architecture
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience leading distributed teams across time zones
Bonus Skills
- Experience with software for retail or service-oriented small businesses (dry cleaning, laundry, salons, etc.)
- Familiarity with POS integrations, inventory systems, or scheduling platforms
- Background in SaaS development with a focus on customer retention and operational efficiency
- Exposure to NoSQL databases and modern front-end technologies

The average base salary pay range for this role is $104,000-$160,000
May be considered for a discretionary bonus
