Rapid7 is presently assembling a new development team in our Prague office to rebuild our flagship marketing website on a modernized marketing technology stack to better support the ambitious digital strategy being developed by our digital marketing teams. This will be a hybrid position, 3 days on-site, 2 days remote.
About the Team
Within Rapid7's Marketing Department, the Web Development & Operations team is dedicated to the ongoing construction and maintenance of www.rapid7.com , our primary marketing website and docs.rapid7.com , our product documentation website, both of which are critical digital resources for both our customers and prospects alike.
About the Role
The Sr. Manager, Web Development and Operations, leads a team of engineers and QA professionals in the development, maintenance and overall operations of Rapid7's primary marketing website, www.rapid7.com and the product documentation site, docs.rapid7.com, in addition to other supporting microsite with focus on rebuilding the website on a new marketing technology platform.
In this role, you will:

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with design, marketing, and other business stakeholders to ensure the development and evolution of a website is aligned with business goals, focusing on user experience (UX), performance optimization, and SEO.
  • Drive technical innovation while managing the migration of the existing website infrastructure to new technologies, ensuring smooth integration with minimal disruption, without compromise on functionality or performance.
  • Manage project lifecycles from requirements gathering to execution, including vendor onboarding, security assessments, and quality control, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
  • Lead development team by providing mentorship, ensuring clear communication, and promoting the professional growth of team members, both in terms of technical capabilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Stay at the forefront of cutting-edge web trends, leveraging your expertise to drive innovation and create transformative online experiences for Rapid7 audiences.


The skills you'll bring include:

  • 10+ years of full-stack web development experience, including 3+ years guiding and mentoring engineers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of web technologies, headless CMS platforms, SEO, website performance, and security best practices, with experience applying these concepts at an enterprise level.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in managing cross-functional teams, empowering individuals, and fostering a culture of open communication and collaboration.
  • Proactive competence in finding and correcting issues and inefficiencies, creating and improving workflows while ensuring alignment with broader business objectives
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate openly within a fast-moving team and across the organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
