Job Description
We are looking for a visionary Senior Engineering Manager to oversee the integration and optimization of out-of-box Default Storage for Databricks. You will lead an engineering team, guide strategic plans, and collaborate with major cloud service providers to enhance our data management solutions.
About the Team
The Databricks Default Storage team focuses on the development and optimization of our out-of-box Default Storage solutions for Databricks. Our goal is to simplify data management processes, enhance security and governance, and improve cloud infrastructure management. This team is at the forefront of innovation in cloud storage, ensuring that our solutions are not only secure but also integrated with major cloud service providers and enterprise data frameworks. You will report to the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities
- You will guide a cloud-agnostic engineering team committed to delivering the best out-of-box Default Storage for Databricks.
- You will contribute to technical, product, strategy and design discussions focused on cloud storage management and optimization.
- You will define and guide the future of out-of-box Default Storage, aligning with company strategy and evolving customer needs.
- You will oversee the recruitment and development of top-tier talent to build a cohesive and dynamic engineering team.
- You will foster leadership within the team through coaching, and providing growth opportunities.
- You will implement strategic processes to work towards the product vision for our Default Storage offering.
- You will work with partners to ensure understanding of organizational goals and partner ecosystems.
- You will help evolve the organizational structure to support long-term plans and establish frameworks.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in systems related to cloud storage, data management, or similar technical fields.
- A deep enthusiasm for enhancing and building cloud storage and data management solutions.
- Ability in building high-quality and reliable infrastructure services with a focus on testing, quality assurance, and service level agreements.
- Attract, hire, and mentor engineers of the highest caliber; experience in growing leaders and integrating top-tier senior talent.
- Gain the trust of the team and guide their careers; experience managing distributed teams.
- Comfortable working with product management and directly with customers; understand product nuances and customer personas.
Pay Range Transparency
Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. $222,000—$300,000 USD
