We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join our team and play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing advanced information security solutions across a variety of domains. This individual will translate complex business and technical requirements into scalable, resilient, and secure enterprise-grade solutions. You'll be involved in cutting-edge initiatives, including security automation, and the integration of AI-driven security measures to ensure the business remains agile and secure.
While experience with specific tools or services such as Data Security Posture Management (DSPM), Prompt Security for AI, Risk Management, and Security Automation is a plus, we value deep technical expertise, adaptability, and a passion for solving complex problems above all. Our team is primarily focused on Python for automation, scripting, and tooling, but we are eager to work with someone who can quickly learn and grow with our technology stack.
What You Will Do

  • Design & Build Security Solutions: Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of scalable, secure, and automated security solutions across multiple domains, including security automation, data security posture management, and risk management.
  • Security Automation: Take ownership of automating security processes and workflows to improve efficiency, reduce human error, and enhance overall security posture. Use Python for scripting and integration across various security tools.
  • Advanced Threat Detection & AI Security: Apply advanced techniques, including AI-driven security measures, to detect, prevent, and respond to emerging security threats. Stay ahead of industry trends and new attack vectors, particularly in AI and machine learning.
  • Vulnerability Remediation: Maintain the security posture of our technology stack through regular compliance reviews and lead the efforts for patching and vulnerability remediation.
  • Evaluate Emerging Security Technologies: Research and evaluate new and emerging security technologies and methodologies to keep the organization ahead of evolving cyber threats.
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams-especially security engineering, security operations, and governance/risk/compliance.
  • Security Posture & Compliance: Ensure that security solutions meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. Develop and document security processes, guidelines, and standards for ongoing compliance.
  • Mentorship & Guidance: Provide technical mentorship and leadership to junior engineers, guiding them in best practices for secure coding, and automation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvements in security infrastructure, tools, and processes, with an emphasis on automation, scalability, and optimizing security operations.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field).
  • 5 Years of experience in coding and scripting languages (e.g.: Python, Java, JavaScript) to develop and maintain custom scripts and platform extensions.
  • 2 Years of experience with information security applications and systems.


Preferred Skills/Education

  • Masters Degree in Computer Science, CIS, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Relevant information security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, PCI ISA, CRISC, CISA, OSCP, GPen).
  • 2 years of experience working with Data Security or Data Security Posture Management systems.
  • 4 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC).
  • 4 Years of experience in the custom enhancement or development of applications using secure coding techniques.
  • 4 years of experience working as part of a Scrum team.
  • Advanced understanding of information security practices and policies.
  • 5 years of experience developing and implementing business systems within an organization.
  • 5 years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software.
  • 5 Years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment.
  • 3 years of experience working with an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework.
  • 3 years of experience leading teams, with or without direct reports.
  • 5 years of experience working with source code control systems.
  • Experience working with Continuous Integration/ Continuous Deployment tools.
  • 5 Years of experience in systems analysis, including defining technical requirements and performing high-level design for complex solutions.


Where You'll Be

  • Associates are required to relocate to the Charlotte region to foster collaboration and facilitate improved testing and support.
  • Lowe's supports a Flex Office concept where in-person work is required two days per week at the Charlotte Tech Hub.
  • Most business meetings are planned around the Eastern time zone
