Job Summary

CTS are looking to add a Sr. Director, Product Management to oversee our live linear product line. The Sr. Director, Product Management will work with our Philadelphia, Denver and Chennai Engineering teams to drive end-to-end product requirements and ensure that we are providing high-quality, high-performance product our customers love. You will collaborate with our content owners and distribution partners to understand their distribution and aggregation needs, turning them into successful products/service offerings.
Provides leadership and direction for a cross-functional matrixed team working on workflow engineering, operations, delivery and onboarding customer. Identifies, investigates, evaluates acquisitions/divestitures, licensing opportunities, and strategic business alliances that are in line with the organization's long-range goals. This role will work closely with other operational elements within Comcast and Comcast Cable. Frequent travel is required to key customer locations, trade shows/industry events and other Comcast sites.
Responsible for management of specific product lines and their growth through strategic product planning and marketing. Captures, articulates and manages requirements and use case documentation. Evaluates new product initiatives, identifies the appropriate business stakeholders and works with them to define detailed business requirements. Develops financial and operational objectives. Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives. Contributes to functional strategy development. Has a greater degree of impact on business results and typically manages one or more groups of professional employees.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Directs the overall go-to-market strategy, procedures and strategy for Live/Linear product line including managed channel origination, virtual/FAST channels, OTT linear processing, broadcast and IP linear distribution and linear rights metadata management
  • Leads all phases of the live/linear product lifecycle, from inception through product deployment, and provides direction of introduction into the marketplace.
  • Evaluates and ensures the viability of new product ideas in the context of the organization's strengths and capabilities, production capability, quality, costs, and marketplace demands.
  • Advises staff on clear documentation of new product ideas and reviews user need analysis reports.
  • Develops goals, budget, and strategic business plans. Recommends ways to expand sales and profitability.
  • Identifies and evaluates new product ideas or strategic product extensions and ensures goals in revenue growth and market share are achieved.  Serves as a subject-matter expert for assigned products.
  • Become proficient in distribution tools used by Comcast and X1  
  • Has shown ability to hire, develop and drive a team to meet and exceed complex business and technical goals.
  • Must have strong business analysis skills and be able to clearly and persuasively articulate complex concepts, analyses and value propositions to customers and partners.
  • Be an expert on the competition and able to execute on market strategies to counter competition.  
  • Have the industry stature to effectively represent the company and its mission externally and bring enhanced credibility to the firm and its products.
  • Even-tempered and capable of forging close and productive working relationships with a broad range of personality types and styles. 
  • Work closely with Product Development and have Product Strategy Responsibility. 

Qualifications

  • Proven management and leadership experience
  • Experience with Broadcast & Digital OTT video industry
  • Experience with Channel origination - master control, playout and distribution technology
  • Experience with A/V codecs, live/linear encoding and packaging technology & vendors
  • Experience with Cloud Playout technologies
  • Experience with SRT, RIST and latest internet transport technology
  • Experience with SaaS product design and usability        
  • Experience with Agile software development practices
  • Conference and video panel speaking

Compensation

Primary Location Pay Range: $177,740.12 - $266,610.18

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
