Job Summary

The Divisional Senior Director of Finance is a leader in the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team reporting to the Head of of FP&A. This role is responsible for directly supporting the preparation of annual budgets/plans, quarterly reforecasts, and overall financial management & analytics. This includes analysis on key drivers for financial performance, KPIs and performance trends. This position works in close partnership with the divisional leadership team for the assigned US insurance division, supporting the division in day-to-day and strategic decision making and business management. 

Scope and Responsibilities

  • Reporting and Forecasting

    • Monitor, review, and report on trends and patterns of performance within the division, including performance of analysis to determine drivers of operational and financial performance.

    • Manage the budgeting/planning, re-forecasting, and outlook processes for the division and support development of operational narrative with regional and corporate stakeholders.

    • Prepare detailed analysis and complementary presentations to communicate actual results as compared to budget, prior periods and re-forecast(s), this analysis will require the utilization of multiple tools and datasets to develop a comprehensive narrative.

    • Effectively communicate the trends and patterns of revenue and expenses with and to various levels of management within Acrisure.

    • Maintain regular visibility and quantification into risks and opportunities to financial performance of the division.

  • Operational Support

    • This position will collaborate with numerous cross functional teams but will focus on supporting the division operations and leadership team.

    • Support implementation of key corporate initiatives including, integrated platform, tech adoption, control environment, adaptive planning and expense management.

    • Conduct financial modeling in support of divisional decision making.

    • Serve as voice of finance team in leadership discussions to ensure prudent financial decision making.

  • Business Leadership and Partnership

    • Build relationships and partner with division leadership and Acrisure Partners to create or enhance process guidelines and support operational execution to meet financial targets.

    • Work collaboratively across home office functions to leverage SMEs and ensure consistency across the enterprise in deliverables, outputs and processes.

    • Serve as an advocate for enterprise initiatives, investments and priorities

    • Lead and mentor team of analysts, driving organizational strategy/priorities and career/professional development.

    • Support ad hoc initiatives and development of new processes across the enterprise to enable a best-in-class finance organization.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant finance/accounting experience required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant leadership experience

  • Experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including financial modeling, budgeting and forecasting, required

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with senior leadership and balance multiple stakeholders

  • Prior experience within the insurance brokerage or carrier industry strongly preferred

  • Effective written and verbal skills, used to perform detailed analysis and prepare presentations

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • Demonstrated strong proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools, e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Teams 

  • Technical agility and desired knowledge of financial reporting systems and tools, e.g. Workday ERP, HCM and Adaptive

    • Ability to work between multiple best-in-class cloud-based solutions

  • Experience in Applied Epic AMS system preferred
