As a Software DevOps Engineer at Upwards, you’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to delivering exceptional services to our users.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated building, testing, and deployment of software.
  • Manage, optimize and modernize our cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to improve reliability and scalability.
  • Assist defining the DevOps roadmap to achieve the company's tech and business goals.
  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline processes and improve software delivery efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and support our organization's computer systems, networks, and technological infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Support our Business Intelligence team by maintaining Data Pipelines.
  • Lead the efforts to maintain security compliance, such as SOC-2 Type II.

You’ll Excel in This Role If You:

  • Are proficient in platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud for deploying and managing scalable infrastructure.
  • Have expertise in tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, and CircleCI to automate software delivery pipelines.
  • Bring hands-on experience with systems such as Redis, MySQL, Nginx, Apache, or similar technologies, demonstrating a strong understanding of their deployment, management, and optimization in a production environment.
  • Possess strong expertise of Linux systems, server management, and system configuration.
  • Have familiarity with tools like Sentry, Datadog, and Prometheus for system and application performance monitoring.
  • Have experience with PHP or are open to working with PHP-based backend services.
  • Enjoy collaborating with teams and documenting processes.
  • Are a proactive learner, staying current with DevOps trends and best practices.
  • Are passionate about building applications that solve real-world problems, especially in marketplaces.
  • Have worked with Business Intelligence and Data Pipeline tools such as BigQuery and Airflow.
  • Are ready to lead architectural discussions.
  • Experience with Kubernetes is a plus.

  • 2nd Interview: Exercise 
  • 3rd Interview: Hiring Manager Interview including a live tech remote session
  • 4th Interview: Final Interview with various members of the Upwards Team
