Position Overview

In this individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Manager of Business Intelligence, you will support Commerce Content, Editorial, and Business Operations teams by analyzing data and offering strategic recommendations. You’ll interact closely with Editorial teams, Product Managers, and other internal stakeholders, delivering reports and actionable insights to drive Yahoo’s commerce strategy. This role requires comfort with preparing and presenting materials for a wide range of audiences, including Commerce leadership.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Analyze end-to-end performance of commerce content across multiple Yahoo products (News, Engadget, AOL, Autoblog, and more) to understand traffic trends, content consumption, and user behavior from the first click to the last.

  • Lead as the Business Intelligence expert for multiple squads in an agile work environment, providing stakeholders with tailored insights and data.

  • Assist the Commerce Product team by analyzing the performance of new and existing features/modules/pages.

  • Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports for the Content Commerce team, detailing the effectiveness of various commerce content types.

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses for Commerce Leadership and key stakeholders; Present and communicate performance results and findings to Commerce Leadership.

  • Monitor data quality issues, partnering with data and instrumentation teams to identify and address gaps/inconsistencies in tracking.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience generating actionable insights for data-driven decisions in product development with excellent user experiences, preferably in commerce content.

  • Proficiency with web analytics tools like Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics.

  • Advanced skills in data visualization tools such as Google/Looker Studio, Tableau, Domo, Looker, or similar, including reporting automation.

  • Expertise in crafting, interpreting, and tailoring SQL queries for comprehensive user analysis.

  • Proficiency in Google Suite/MS Office.

  • Strong analytical skills with a quantitative mindset and understanding of basic statistics.

  • Proven track record in complex problem-solving and analysis, experienced with large data sets and advanced Excel/Google Sheets knowledge.

  • Direct experience conducting analyses for Digital Content and/or Product teams.

  • Outstanding communication skills for crafting and presenting data-driven insights, articulating performance and opportunities to key stakeholders.

  • Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines with both data-focused and non-data-focused individuals.

  • A proactive and hands-on attitude, eager to resolve technical/instrumentation issues.

  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are sometimes tight and stakeholder needs are pressing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Marketing, or Mathematics preferred) in a relevant field and experience in digital analytics and insights delivery.

  • Extensive experience collaborating with Editorial and Business teams for strategic analysis.

  • Knowledge of market analytics tools (Comscore, SimilarWeb, etc.)

  • Team player in driving growth results combined with a positive attitude and high emotional intelligence.

The compensation for this position ranges from $84,750.00 - $176,875.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
