Job Summary:

Under general direction, this position is responsible for carrying out and overseeing the day-to-day delivery of compliance programs and services aligned to one or more functional areas (e.g., Employment / Labor Advisory, International). The incumbent collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to respond to business and/or employee needs. The incumbent has demonstrated consistent high quality performance, proven enterprise compliance strategy execution, and cross-functional influence.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advice, counsel and guidance to all levels of management and staff on company policies and procedures (including Senior level leadership)

• Provide advice and resolution to the People Team, managers (including Senior level leadership), and employees on employee relations discrepancies, problems and issues; maintain open communication to offer guidance on employee relations protocols; promote employee satisfaction; and foster a positive working environment

• Maintain and revise existing policies and procedures for employee relations and compliance programs to ensure compliance with new or proposed regulations

• Independently design & conduct compliance training programs to keep staff informed of compliance issues and regulatory changes; provide suggestions to make improvements in compliance practices

• Ensure that all regulatory (immigration, FLSA, etc.) programs comply with applicable rules and regulations

• Independently design & implement process improvements to policies and procedures

• Oversees ongoing audits of existing policies and practices to comply with legislative changes on the federal, state, or local level

• Maintain relationships with contractor and other contingent worker/temp agencies to ensure employment law compliance

• Design and execute effective processes to monitor J.B. Hunt compliance with its obligations under applicable law.

• Conduct background monitoring for current employees and resolve background investigation issues

• Partner with other internal departments, business units and senior management to ensure the effective implementation of compliance policies

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of experience in Human Resources, Legal, &/or Business Administration. AND/OR demonstrated ability of the following skills through education, certifications, or other experiences
  • Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Ability to adapt to the business needs of a dynamic, growing organization
  • Ability to analyze and interpret HR policies
  • Ability to communicate effectively through all mediums
  • Ability to deliver informative presentations to employees at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field.

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.  This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.

The Company offers the following benefits for full-time positions, subject to applicable eligibility requirements, as may be in effect from time to time: medical benefit, dental benefit, vision benefit, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, paid time off commensurate with tenure (includes vacation and sick time), six weeks of paid maternity leave along with two weeks of paid parental leave, and six paid holidays annually.
