This position works closely with the Director of Marketing & Media Relations and staff leadership/personnel within Kaweah Health to research and develop internal communication strategies and plans that will enhance the vision and goals of the company and the system as a whole. In addition, oversees writing for communication projects from concept to completion. This is accomplished by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating marketing and communication programs for hospital products and services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field.
Experience
Required:
Five years of industry experience or equivalent work experience.
Copy writing, editing, planning, and presentation experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Must be highly organized, with a strong ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
If assigned to Social Media: Is proficient in use of social media platforms and software such as: Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, X (formerly Twitter), Sprout Social, Reputation Management, FB live events, podcasts and other online platforms.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential
Participates in the overall development of Marketing’s strategic marketing plan.
Development and implementation of strategic communications plans for specific service lines. Communication plans for specific service lines will be developed, in alignment with the Kaweah Health goals, and reviewed regularly.
Participates in the development of the Marketing budget based on the strategic marketing plan. Helps to maintain that dollar amount by managing communication projects and by managing budget dollars allotted.
Oversees the development of service-line communication plans to meet strategic business goals through prudent management of the following activities and resources:
Employee and physician communication: Writes and implements communication materials for Kaweah Health’s internal newsletters, hospital bulletin boards, website, and other internal communication vehicles.
Service-line communication: Assists service lines with communication-related projects by writing content for necessary collateral materials.
Department-specific communications: Provides support by developing communication materials to support administration, the charitable foundation, the guild, human resources and other departments as necessary.
Media Relations: Periodically assists the Director or other Senior specialists on media inquiries for patient information and medical resource interviews in conjunction with network media relations representative and coordinates community requests for tours, assistance, etc. Regularly posts Kaweah Health events on media partner websites.
Works closely with network marketing and communications personnel to share resources and avoid duplication of efforts.
Shares the responsibility of writing website content and assists with the management of content and overall aesthetics of the Kaweah Health websites and intranet. This includes keeping all information on Kaweah Health events and support groups up-to-date on Kaweah Health websites, and intranet.
Serves as a copywriter for internal marketing and advertising projects including, but not limited to, on-hold messages, brochures, and fliers. Additionally, assist Senior Communication Specialists in copywriting and copyediting of external publications.
Assists in ensuring that all materials written to support internal and external marketing and advertising efforts including, but not limited to print, web, graphics, or videos communications are written to a professional level. Efficiently utilizes resources to complete communication projects. Demonstrates personal initiative, creativity and inventiveness with each assignment.
Exercises professional judgment in dealing with internal and external publics and at all times represent the Kaweah Health in an appropriate manner.
Maintains written standards in all print materials to reflect accuracy and consistency.
Assists with the daily function of the Marketing Department. Lends assistance to members of the department for special events, news releases, and other functions of the department.
Additional
Acts as Photographer for Kaweah Health when needed.
Develops communication materials for use on social media to market the Kaweah Health.
Is responsible for the implementation of social media channels to market the Kaweah Health.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care and services appropriate to the population served on the assigned unit or work area.
Performs other duties as assigned.
