Sr. Cloud Engineer

We are currently looking for a Sr. Cloud Engineer. This position will be based out of Mexico, but can be Hybrid in Mexico City, depending on extensive experience level.

This role will be responsible for evaluating, designing and documenting platform engineering solutions for AWS cloud. The candidate will collaborate with application development teams, operations, networking teams, security teams, and enterprise architecture to implement solutions. In this role resource will also provide all the technical guidance, design specification and solution level support to the operation team for the cloud connectivity, integration and application migration.

Essential Job Functions (Include but are not limited to)

· Evaluate, design, and document platform engineering solutions for our AWS cloud.

· Collaborate with application development teams, operations, networking teams, security teams, and enterprise architecture to implement solutions.

· Provide technical guidance, design specifications, and solution-level support to the operations team.

· Implement standards and best practices for the service and service offerings.

· Coordinate tasks for the team to manage projects, resources, risk, and change.

· Build CICD pipelines for Infrastructure as a Code using AWS CloudFormation and/or Terraform.

· Deliver AWS Platform Design Documents based on requirements and best practices.

· Contribute to the design and implementation of solutions based on architectural best practices.

· Manage the ServiceNow ITOM product for cloud provisioning.

· Develop target state and transition state designs for cloud adoption and migration.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of AWS native cloud and managed services.

· Work with multi-vendor technology teams to achieve shared objectives.

· Implement cloud networking and security best practices.

· Utilize automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices (Python or Shell Scripting, YAML, etc.).

· Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills to make informed decisions.

· Drive objective product selection and evaluation.

· Collaborate effectively with diverse audiences, including highly skilled IT professionals and senior management.

· Contribute to designing and implementing solutions based on architectural best practices and AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Minimum Qualifications:

· 5+ years of overall IS/IT experience.

· 5+ years of experience with Cloud PaaS/IaaS (AWS highly desired)

· Experience working with multi-vendor technology teams.

· AWS cloud operations experience.

· Strong knowledge and experience with AWS managed services including governance using Service Catalog.

· Solid experience with Cloud networking, cloud storage, cloud infrastructure and automation tools. E.g.: Exposure to VPC Peering, Monitoring Tools/Solutions

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make decisions.

· Experience driving objective product selection and evaluation.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, working with diverse audiences.

· Ability to contribute to designing and implementing solutions based on architectural best practices and AWS Well-Architected Framework.

Requirements and Desired Skillsets:

· Knowledge on Cloud Networking and Security best practices is required. AWS highly desirable.

· Proficiency in AWS architectural principles and key networking services, including AWS Global infrastructure, Control Tower, VPC, Route 53, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Private Link, App Mesh, Cloud Front, API Gateway, Cloud Map, Cloud WAN, Network Firewall, ELB, NACL, Security Group, and AWS VPN.

· Practitioner-level network automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices: Python or Shell Scripting, YAML etc.

· Strong Knowledge of IaC: Ansible, Terraform, AWS Cloud formation

· Solid understanding of client/server, networking and Internet technologies

· Knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPBGP, MPLS VPNs, VxLAN, Multicast

· Proven problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to apply business judgment to complex problems and make decisions

· Knowledge of DMVPN, IPSEC and Encryption Standards, Network Security

· Experience with driving objective product selection and evaluation

· IP Routing platforms and Switching platforms, Layer-3 connectivity (desired but not required)

· Ability to clear required background check

Education:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Engineering / Technology

Certifications Preferred:

· AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)

· AWS DevOps Engineer

· AWS SysOps Administrator

· AWS Advance Networking

· AWS Security
