As Sr. Cloud Engineer II, you’ll lead the design, automation, and management of large-scale cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate will be an expert in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration as Code (CaC), and cloud automation across AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP within a DoD or US Government context. This role involves driving cloud strategy, optimizing infrastructure performance, and ensuring security and compliance across cloud environments.

What you’ll do:
- Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that align with business objectives.
- Automate infrastructure deployments and optimize cloud operations.
- Design and maintain high-availability, resilient, and disaster recovery-ready cloud architectures.
- Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines to streamline infrastructure deployments.
- Mentor junior and mid-level cloud engineers, providing technical guidance and best practices.
- Stay ahead of emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to cloud strategies.
- Lead security, compliance, and governance initiatives for cloud infrastructure.
- Oversee performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and cost optimization strategies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Active Secret security clearance or higher
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevSecOps, or enterprise infrastructure management.
- Extensive experience working with at least one major cloud provider in a DoD or US Government context (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP).
- Experience with maintaining secure cloud environments and alignment with the DoD Cloud SRG, NIST controls, and government cybersecurity requirements.
- Expertise in Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent IaC tools.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud networking, security, IAM, and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in cloud environments.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
