RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all sales activities to meet or exceed volume, revenue and margin targets for the assigned accounts and territory.  Seek, develop and capture growth opportunities in the region.
  • Support the development and implementation of a sustainable growth strategy for the Life Science & Fine Chemicals and Oleochemicals market segments in North America.
  • Ensure effective account management and customer relations in sales region. This includes developing account plans and leading key or strategic account teams. Build relationships with relevant stakeholders and decision makers across matrix organizations at the customer enabling effective two-way flow of information.
  • Develop a personal network within the Life Science & Fine Chemicals and Oleochemicals market segments and represent Evonik Catalysts at relevant events. Obtain market intelligence, gain new leads/opportunities and enhance the visibility and reputation of the organization, its products and its services.
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of Catalyst products, capabilities, and services to satisfy the customer's needs. Present these solutions, with the commercial terms, to the customer with a clear rationale, leveraging internal colleagues as needed.
  • Collaborate internally across multiple functions serving as the customer champion to build strong external customer relationships, execute growth plans and maintain current business.
  • Manage an accurate sales forecast and meet overdues metric.  Utilize CRM tool(s) to document information that has been gathered through research and/or through direct customer interaction to ensure that the organization has quality data to enable effective customer retention, supply and business development activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • University degree in a technical field (i.e. chemistry, chemical engineering, etc).  MBA is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of experience in sales of highly technical products and services (ideally catalysts), in a multinational environment enabling incumbent to deal with the majority of situations, to advise others and to successfully develop long term customer relationships.
  • Established track record of success in sales - demonstrated ability for generating and maintaining solution based sales approach at the customer while leveraging the internal team to deliver the sale.
  • Demonstrated ability to network at a range of levels and functions within target customer organization, up to senior management. Has a proven ability to make successful decisions based on alignment and getting the "buy-in" of key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Work independently while providing guidance and training to others on sales tactics, planning, organizing, prioritizing and overseeing activities to efficiently meet business strategies and objectives.
  • Has ability to travel up to 50% of the time, or as needed. 

Target Salary Range:
$105,400-$191,200 per year (salary to be determined by geographic location, education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
