Databricks’ Corporate Development & Ventures team partners with leadership to identify and execute acquisitions and strategic investments to support our corporate and product strategy. The Corporate Development & Ventures Senior Associate will be an essential member of the team, supporting the management and execution of the company’s end-to-end acquisition and strategic investment activities - from sourcing to evaluation and transaction execution. We are a high-impact and active team, closing 10 M&A transactions and 30+ Databricks Ventures investments since 2023.
The impact you will have:
- Support transaction execution end-to-end:
- Lead financial modeling & analysis for transactions and strategic projects.
- Coordinate cross-functional due diligence process under guidance of the deal lead.
- Collaborate closely with Databricks’ cross-functional deal team during the entire transaction lifecycle.
- Support ad-hoc integration activities post-close (e.g., operational alignment, setting KPIs, cross-functional coordination).
Support M&A and investment strategy:
- Identify and qualify high-impact M&A and Databricks Ventures opportunities by working with Executive Leadership, Product Management, Engineering, and Product Partnerships teams.
- Conduct strategic and financial evaluation of M&A and investment opportunities; communicate findings in business case memos and executive presentations.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive view of competitive and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and keep stakeholders updated on the evolving ecosystem.
- Build our Corporate Development capability:
- Conduct sector analyses and pipeline building activities.
- Build relationships with internal stakeholders and relevant partners, advisers, and investors in our ecosystem.
- Help design and implement processes to enhance team efficiency and execution.
What we look for:
- BA or BS undergraduate degree required; degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field is a plus.
- 2+ years of work experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, corporate development, or venture capital; exposure to enterprise software or the data infrastructure sector is a plus.
- Experience building financial and operating models and valuing companies.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; exceptional attention to detail.
- Self-directed and resourceful with ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively.
- Strong drive to rapidly grow into a deal lead role.
Pay Range Transparency
Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
