Our Associate program is a paid opportunity that allows participants to contribute to the organization’s success while at the same time applying learnings from the classroom. This semester we will continue with a hybrid program and will offer each participant the opportunity to gain in-office experience for approximately 3-days a week. Associates are responsible for their individual transportation and housing needs.
Associate Expectations:
All Associates are expected to work 24-29.9 hours a week during the session. While each Associate will be working with a specific division, they will have the opportunity to learn about other areas within Excel, through lunch and learns held throughout the semester.
Important Dates:
Our Spring Program runs from mid January 2025 through Friday, May 16th, 2025
Office Hours:
- 9:00 am‐6:00 PM ET, Monday-Friday OR as agreed upon with advisor. Days in office must be coordinated with Advisor’s schedules.
Our Associates must:
- Be available to work under 30 hours per week.
- Be available to report to the New York office approximately 3-days a week.
- Have a senior standing in college (must have completed your junior year of undergrad)
OR
- Be enrolled in a graduate school
OR
- Have a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree, preferably in accounting or finance.
Interview Process:
- Applications will close on December 6th, 2024
- If selected, the expectation is that offers will be extended mid-end of December.
- The program will begin mid-January 2025.
Finance Associate Expectations:
- Process new contracts, prepare invoices, and assist with vendor forms to ensure prompt and accurate payments to clients and the company.
- Assist the finance team with gathering and organizing documentation, preparing schedules, and responding to external inquiries to support audit and compliance activities.
- Maintain accurate financial databases, support year-end closing activities, reconcile records, and prepare financial reports to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
- Apply and record incoming and outgoing payments using web-based accounting platforms and ensure all transactions are accurately documented.
- Onboard new clients, employees, and vendors to ensure seamless integration into our ERP and payment systems.
- Manage specific Accounts Receivable reports, monitor aged collections, send internal reminders, and follow up individually as needed to facilitate timely resolutions.
Finance Associate Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong working knowledge of other Microsoft Office Programs;
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities;
- Able to build relationships, genuine connections and trust both internally and externally;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Exceptional time-management skills, able to execute tasks and responsibilities in an ever-changing environment;
- Able to operate with discretion and confidentiality;
- Flexible and reliable team player internally and externally;
- Able to think creatively and innovatively.
The pay for this position is: $16.50 per hour. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the California and New York City Salary Transparency Law.
