Our prestigious Wine & Spirits team are now looking for an experienced Spirits Buyer to join them here at Harrods. This is an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with world-renowned producers and shape the category in a truly unique omnichannel retail environment.

About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for implementing a commercial strategy that drive sales and profitability. You will source and curate an exquisite range of products, ensuring Harrods continues to offer only the very best. You will build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing and contracts, and develop innovative joint business plans.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Category Strategy – Developing and executing an annual category plan, ensuring we meet financial and commercial targets.
  • Supplier & Product Management – Sourcing the best products globally, negotiating competitive pricing, and ensuring seamless supply chain operations.
  • Market Insight & Trend Analysis – Identifying emerging trends and opportunities, using data-driven insights to optimise our range.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Working closely with Retail, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Private Shopping, and E-commerce teams to enhance our customer offering.
  • Store & Customer Experience – Owning the shop floor layout, leading training initiatives, and delivering engaging customer activations.
  • Own-Label & Concession Partnerships – Managing own-label development and concession partnerships to strengthen our luxury proposition.

About You

You will be a commercially driven, customer-focused leader with a deep passion for premium spirits. Whether you are an experienced Buyer or a high-performing Assistant Buyer ready to take the next step, you will bring a strong commercial mindset and a track record of success in food, drinks, or luxury retail buying. Your expertise in spirits will be invaluable, and holding (or working towards) a WSET Diploma is highly desirable.

You will also have:

  • Experience working in a retail business or spirits supplier, with a background in range optimisation, pricing, trade planning, and supplier negotiations.
  • A strategic mindset, able to balance commercial acumen with product expertise.
  • Experience in an omnichannel retail environment, with knowledge of pop-ups, launches, and activations.
  • A team player with a creative, solution-oriented approach and a customer-first mindset.
  • The ability to frequently travel, including overseas supplier visits and competitor analysis. Occasional weekend work may also be required.
