The Special Programs Manager is a position that will play a pivotal role in supporting the School of Criminal Justice’s undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, as well as collaborating directly with the Director of the Department of Public Safety Administration on external partnerships and programs. This individual will be responsible for identifying, developing, coordinating, implementing, and overseeing key initiatives and partnerships, such as Command Officer Management and Executive Leadership Institute programs. This role offers an exciting opportunity to impact the growth and success of the criminal justice programs at Saint Leo University while contributing to broader community and industry efforts related to public safety and human trafficking prevention.

Job Description

Duties and Tasks:

  • Work with department leadership to develop strategic partnerships and identify opportunities to generate revenue for the university
  • Manage the partnerships that support criminal justice programs
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and management of Command Officer Management and Executive Leadership Institute programs.
  • Coordinate all criminal justice program-related activities, including partnerships, campus programs, and related gatherings
  • Participate in recruitment efforts for the University and Department of Criminal Justice, both on campus and externally.
  • Travel to relevant events within and outside the State of Florida to promote and market the School of Criminal Justice.
  • Maintain accurate records for all program-related budgets, marketing materials, and partnerships.
  • Schedule webinars
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive calendar of events, meetings, and activities related to criminal justice programs

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience within the Criminal Justice field is helpful

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding writing skills, with the ability to craft proposals, reports, and program documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Abilities:

  • Ability to write, manage, and track budgets using Microsoft Excel, including creating detailed financial reports and projections.
  • Ability to work effectively with criminal justice practitioners and administrators, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Proficient in speaking publicly and presenting information to large audiences.
  • Ability to travel for work, including during weekdays and weekends as necessary.
